Not yet - it says in the article that his list status for 2018 is still unknown.

They can still wait until next year to promote him (which they would have to) if they feel there isn't room on the list.

I'd be very surprised if he isn't promoted on draft night though.

Doesn't make any difference to Marshall if he stays on the rookie list or not - he will be eligible to play in the seniors from Round 1 next year under the CBA.

That said he could stay on the rookie list for list management purposes.

It's not a draft pick any more but yes, any elevation during the year is only temporary. It's perfectly fine for him to sign a two year contract and be on the rookie list for the first year of that, or even the second year as well if he agreed. As said elsewhere, makes little difference under the new CBA.

Normally rookie's get one year extensions don't they? Only more if they're going to be promoted to the senior list

Very happy with Marshall getting 2 years. A couple of pre-seasons will make him a very competitive KPP. Building some depth and flexibility as we move into a finals window from 2018 on.
