Two sliding doors moments are the difference in that game.

Massimo missing a sitter

Rankine mark that was clearly touched and then a 50 paid, gifted goal.

The umpires had zero feel for the game and were horrid all night for both teams. The worst umpired code of sport in the world bar none.

Gallant loss, but so was the Freo loss and the Suns loss.

Teams need to play very well to beat us and frustratingly it seems like we shoot ourselves in the foot more often than teams genuinely beat us.

Port, Brisbane and Collingwood losses this year are the only games we genuinely got beaten, the others we’ve completely soiled the bed at pivotal moments.

We’ll be much better for it next year, top 4 side in 2026, but right now it’s hard to stomach

Haha….
You had 2 extra days rest!
Were gifted 7 goals from free kicks!

And still couldn’t get the job done!
I know you have run out of iq points today, used them all up trying to spell that paragraph

But hopefully you have enough to read this

**** off back to your own board you peasant

I just dont like it. The guy said something years ago and put his hand up for it. Its unbecoming to wield it like around like a weapon to character asemantic him forever more. I dont think anything to do racial vilification in either direction belongs on these boards unless its a thread that specifically addresses it.
Mate if you can't tell Taylor Walker is an actual racist, he blantetly yelled out old mate is a black c, infront of everyone, than I don't know what to say.

Worpel had a stinker. Experience player fresh as sub and caused too many turnovers.

We have been run over the last 3 times interstate.

Just not good enough.

Disappointing night.

Chol was freshened up with time off and didn't have an impact.

We are 2 mids short of being able to compete.

It was warps, when we killed bulldogs we had butler, Sheamus Mitchell and Ramsden all young go hards that gave there absolute all, now where back to the same old shit, go figure. Again worpel never play again.
Worpel wasn’t out there in the second quarter when we were absolutely atrocious.

I know people he’s an easy scapegoat given he’s likely gone but theres a lot more wrong with our team currently than just him. He had a bad game, sure. He’s not the reason we lost though.

Yes it does.

There's a reason for it. That's my point.

He's getting more attention than ever and playing through an injury/soreness.

He hasn't 'regressed' as a footballer as people are trying to suggest.
People are saying he is in poor form, which he is.... Being tagged does not give you a pass, he is a qaulity player and no one is saying otherwise. He is in poor form though.

3 Goals kicked in last quarter all possible. Worpel, McDonald, Moore, had stinkers. Smashed around the ball in the 2nd qtr and left them do as they please. Backs were very good considering how it was flowing in there. We didn't take our opportunities, they did, they won. Kane Cornes is insufferable, makes my ears bleed with the sh*t he dribbles. Onto the next, all we can do is hope Hawks can beat a couple in the last 3 games.

For those questioning the 4 talls, tough game to make a call on it.

Dominated the first quarter with the planned strategy and we weren’t far off wining if Mass slotted that goal.

Plus the delivery was pretty ordinary.

Not saying it was a success, just saying it wasn’t far off potentially being a master stroke and probably need to see it against a few sides to see if it works or not.

To be fair the Rankine goal was cancelled out by the Lewis play on.

I don't think the umps had much of a bearing on the result. It was a hard fought game between two well matched teams and the better side won.

We had our opportunities but we are continually our own worst enemy.

The amount of times we step on our own dick and gift the ball back at half forward for them to ping it over the top of our treacle slow backline is staggering.

Great effort in fairness, can't at all question the players.

Had this feeling tonight that we're actually just not good enough. The guys try their guts out each week and often its good enough but against the heavy weights we're often just short.

We need a game breaker and need to go hard for one in the off season

What a cracking game. Adelaide are gonna be hard to stop

Onwards and upwards

Big let down from Moore, first quarter early on we were on fire could of let lose okay boys time to feast, Moore no where just shit this year when it comes to the big games

Moore was being clamped by Bond. He was running with him everywhere and not giving him space.

I wonder why we didn't give him greater midfield minutes.

Honestly, bar the north game, we really havent put together a complete performance.

A lot of personnel issues to fix, we desperately need a quick and smart midfielder, and another versatile midfielder.

We desperately need some onfield leadership. Said it in the gameday thread, but ginnivan is our main onfield leader. Thats concerning.

Lewis is not a gorilla forward. His best work is done when he runs up the ground and leads. When he is in a contest he gets taken out of it fairly regularly.

We also need the fun to return. We've stopped the d*head celebrations and have gone too professional. If you have fun and enjoy it, the results are far easier to manage

Agree with what you say but is it a risk worth taking at this point in the year with our season on the line? Maybe it is, not sure though.

Considering the scoreline and how many missed opportunities we had at goal, we actually stood up to the challenge pretty well, but we’re just missing that clean finish. We do have it what it takes, but it’s clear that our mid field is missing a critical piece which I do believe will make everything click once it’s found.

I’m just gonna stick with the positives:

Sicily - So glad he’s found his confidence again. Like Day, when he’s on, everyone is just that much better.
Gunners - What an absolute blinder of a year he’s having. Our most reliable forward still and is all class.
The backline - Until our midfield is sorted, credit is always deserved there. They run their guts out week in, week out to keep us in it.

Huge challenge ahead now to stay in the eight. I think after tonight, at the very least, we should keep in step with Collingwood and Brisbane to will give them a run for their money.

On to next week!
