Exactly. When you think about it the only similarity is the sport being played, and the dynamics at play with regards to adding new teams to a competition and ensuring their competitiveness while not severely disadvantaging preexisting teams. (With the creation of Freo in 1995 being handled as badly as possible, and the process in AFLW being questioned.)

Different models used for drafting players to men’s v women’s teams.

In WA, the teams are guaranteed Pick 1, 3, 5 or Pick 2, 4, 6 of the WA players for the women’s teams.

The men’s drafting is more widely spread.
