Have any of those players suffered more than one injury? Because if so, I reckon your flogging a dead horse on here...
I like both Mills and Jones coming out of defence, I don't know much about Hall and Lonergan, but what happened to Liberatore? Is he not being offered a contract or is he a free-agent? Any indications he is looking for a change?
Look at his behaviour after the 2016 grand final. Granted he can't have been the only Bulldog to be loose as **** after that...No offence, that was six years ago!!
Cheers!Liberatore has had the two knee reconstructions, which is unfortunate. He's a free agent, and the dogs have a few free agents they need to re-sign. There was talk in the media a little while ago that there might not be room in the team for Liberatore AND Wallis, so one of them may be available. I don't mind the idea of Wallace, but all things being equal Liberatore is the better player (as long as his knees are ok). It's a risk, but as long as he's cheap it's not a big one. Now that I realise he's a free agent I'm even more interested.
Lonergan is a midfield bull, wins contested possessions and has enough speed to break away / spread. His disposal hasn't been a strength of his career, but it's no worse than most on our list. He was a first rounder in 2012 (going back a fair way) who has consistently shown enough to keep his spot on the list but never really dominated like he was expected to. Would be very cheap, and might just need the change of scene to help him take the next step.
Hall is a bit of a strange one. He's an outside midfielder, blistering speed, great use by foot, kicks goals and sets them up. As an outside attacking midfielder he's pretty much everything you could want.
On the flipside there are BIG question marks over his accountability and defensive efforts. Sort of like an extreme Lewis Jetta, in that I would say he has more natural ability and weapons, but lacks Jettas defensive mindset (which is saying something). Again, a risk, but would be cheap and as an example of what he is capable of:
2017 round round 7, Gold Coast vs Geelong
In a match where Gold Coast beat a quality opponent, Halls stats read.
Good -
32 disposals at 75% (22 kicks, 10 handballs)
10 marks
8 tackles
1 goal 2 behinds
10 score involvements
569 meters gained
Bad -
3 intercept possessions
6 contested possessions
1 contested mark
19 pressure acts
3 clearances
1 one percenter
Which sort of sums him up as a player at GCFC. Elite outside and in attack, but not much for contests. That being said, it seems most GCFC supporters would be happy to see him go, and would be happy to take him in exchange for Newman.

I used to think that way, until we invited Stevie J to coach for us. Kind of had to let that go after that, and just hope that they don't bring that kind of behaviour with them...Look at his behaviour after the 2016 grand final. Granted he can't have been the only Bulldog to be loose as **** after that...
We don't need Libba. Too many stories for none of them to be true. He isn't getting a game at a struggling club.

He was obviously referencing our last gameWould think his injury may have something to do with that.
True. I meant he wasn't before he was injured.Would think his injury may have something to do with that.

Seriously? He won a grand final, went on a bender OS, got a weird haircut and played a game that he shouldn't of... damn, that's bad!Yup:

I'm not saying it means we definitely shouldn't have a look at him by any stretch because of it, but I am certain that his off field behaviour is something that would factor in to any considerations we had about recruiting him.

Will never accept a member of that family , father a rat and son a druggie, no thanksRisk vs reward with Libba
Absolute gun when when fit and is what we need in the guts
You know that do you. MBALOSITTTDon’t give a crap (to a point) what their behaviour has Been or will be if they deliver on the ground
Buddy was no angel(still is not at times)

Where are the drugs, public nudity, arrests for indecent behaviour or assault, etc...
Don't even rate him to mention, bad culture at that shit club and only Scott Jeffrey has kept them alive.
6 years...that’s a bender! No offence, that was six years ago!!
Ha, did you read the bit at the end? The ‘since you are here’ bit?
Okay, I didn't mean to indicate that the club should take into account any risk factors. My apologies if it read that way... and, yes, as it happens I do remember the last doggie we signed. How about going out partying when he should be doing rehab?

So, that's now the third article, all seperate incidents, that I've posted about his poor or unprofessional off field behaviour.
How many more will you need to see before conceding that it is a risk that the club would need to take into account?
I'm not saying it should rule him out. But if you didn't consider the risk it would just be pure negligence when you have clear, repeated, publicly known issues, let alone what hasn't made it to the media.
Do you remember the last Bulldog we signed?

The not attending rehab, for any reason, is an issue. I didn't see much wrong with the story about his end of season trip, sounded like a media beat up to me. But we're talking as if he's done dreadful things, when it seems as if he's just taken a bit longer than most to grow up. It happens, there are always outliers. He's 26 now, and doesn't seem to have had any issues for the past couple of years.
I seriously have absolutely no faith that anything reported in the media is fact. It may be based on 'a' fact, but is often (generally) so sensationalised and distorted as to be unrecognisable.
