Anyone reckon that Bangers having the gloves is a play at earning Australian selection? There's clearly a void at the moment between failed experienced players and immature, albeit talented, kids. Could be a perfect opening for someone with his ability.

Possible but it wouldn't have happened if Whiteman wasn't injured. It does free up that extra bowling sport for Short and/or Moody which helps.

Inglis is pretty handy though. You could drop Klinger and shuffle the order.
