We lack speed

Besides Rioli and Bateman, who else gives us genuine foot speed through the middle and off half back?

we've got great inside midfielders, Sewell, Mitch, Lewis, Hodge (if he ever gets to play there again). Who else breaks the lines though?

When you look at our half backs, we aint blessed with great speed their either... Birch, Guerra, Ladson.

We got away with it last year, with bateman and young having stellar seasons, but seem seriously exposed so far.

We do have a lot of pace. We also do have a lot of underdone and out of form players. When these 2 things are factors, and we play poorly like we did tonight, we are exposed in a big way.

Actually we're one of the quicker teams in the AFL. We defiantly don't lack pace! Our run is one of the things that makes us a great side. It just wasn't there at all last night. Shocking game.

Leg speed is overrated imo.

Geelong aren't an overly quick team but they move the ball quickly and have great skills. We were the same last year.

We moved the ball slowly and turned it over against the bombers. Playing the zone defence turnovers can turn into easy goals for the opposition.

We also look very unfit and can't run out games at the moment.

you put a Star on welsh but not on Riemers ?? come on Riemers is better then welsh , Jetta is better then Stokes , Lucas is finished unless he comes good in the VFL , Fletcher is better then Gilham (only thing Gilham is better is he has the better age) , and Croad is over rated i like Guerra , Ellis is ok not a star yet , Ladson is prob as good as Prismall , Young is prob our welsh in terms of player ranking in our team line ups so i think Essendon had way more players out then you guys so injury shouldnt be used as a reason , you had 22 and we had 22 at the start of the game end of the day score board shows we had more score then you so they gave us the WIN and the 4pts .

a crap pre-season combined with poor injury mamnagement and prevention as well as bad luck will cost us this year,plus I dont think we have the hunger of past years. Clarkos zoning gameplan is really under the pump at the moment with the second string players unable to execute it well. Essendon had players out last night as well so maybe our depth is actually quite thin, tuck , moss, whitecross , dowler, stokes, murphy are all trying hard but really are not yet good enough to keep us at the top end of the ladder when our good players are out, Essendons young players really showed them up, they have better depth than us, so unless we have close to our best 22 on the park last night result unfortunately will be a common occurance this year

Ellis is a much better and more polished player than Riemers, any football follower would know that. You give someone s**t for talking one eyed then you say that dribble.

Croad overated, you are a peanut, just look at the effect his loss is having this year, our structure and defenive matchups are all over the place. He puts Fletcher to shame at the present time, as does Gilham.

Take your Essendon glasses off mate.

Welsh- Huge last year. Tagged guns last year and got 30 touches himself.
Prismall- Starting 18 in Geelongs midfield. Would replace someone like Dyson in a flash if fit.
Skipworth. In our best three for first three games.
Gumbleton- would play instead of Neagle.
Laycock- Would play instead of Bellchambers.
Reimers. Easily our best youngster last year. Pace, skill, hardness. Starting 18 if fit.
Hurley would have played instead of Hooker.

Heres the difference muppet - we are missing our whole premiership backline. Do you know what its like to miss a whole premiership backline? Please dont compare Laycock and Reimers in the same breath as oue backmen. None of the clowns you have mentioned above except for Dustbin Fletcher have played in a premiership. And they probably wont.
