Introduction:

Homicide investigator Nick Burkhardt of the Portland Police Department learns he is descended from a line of guardians known as Grimms, charged with keeping balance between humanity and the Westen, or mythological creatures of the world (Wesen is the German word for being or creature). Throughout the series, he must battle against an assortment of dangerous creatures, with help from his Wesen friend, Monroe, and his partner, Detective Hank Griffin.

Standard Rules: See changes in Role Set
Basic Rules:
At the beginning of the game each player is given a 'role' at random and in secret (via PM) by the moderator.

The aim of the Villagers is to identify and kill all of the Mafia, Werewolves, Vampires and Independents before the evil factions can kill enough Villagers so that (# of e.g. Werewolves = # of Villagers). Only one faction can win.

How are players killed?
Each 'turn' of the game will last approximately 24 hours and also represents one 'day' of game time, thus a game will go on for several days before it is concluded. There are two 'phases' to every turn of the game;

Night Phase (7:00pm – 11:00pm):When evil factions secretly decide among themselves, via PM communication, which Villager (one per night) that they shall kill and then inform the moderator via PM. Others with a Night action also enter their actions now via PM to the Mods. Decisions for the night phase are to be in no later than 11pm.

Day Phase (11:00pm – 7:00pm):After the results of Night actions have been announced, everybody discusses and ultimately votes publicly in the game-thread upon which player that they shall lynch and kill. Votes for the day phase are to be in no later than 7pm.

Obviously during the day the Villagers will want the group to vote for and lynch an evil player, whilst the evil players themselves will want not to be lynched; herein lies the fundamental strategy of the game:

Can the Villagers identify the evildoers whilst at the same time convincing the rest of the group that they're not evil? And can the evildoers convince the group that they're not evil at all and thus avoid being lynched?

Werewolf Etiquette:

There are two main rules which everyone must follow in order for the game to run successfully;

DEAD PLAYERS MUST LEAVE THE GAME
If you are killed at any point during the game then you are no longer allowed to participate although I will allow a farewell post, but that post cannot impact the remainder of the game.

THERE MUST BE NO PRIVATE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN PLAYERS EXCEPT WITHIN THE GROUPS LISTED BELOW
Except for the below-mentioned groups sending PMs between themselves, other forms of private communication concerning the game are not allowed.

Anyone caught quoting PMs from the mods will be mod-killed without warning.

For this game we will not be using the Reason for Lynching rule.

For this game we will be using a 5-post-per-day average rule.

Voting:
During the Day Phase players must vote for who to lynch, your vote must be formatted in bold like this: Player Name.

Upon the voting deadline (end of day-phase) the votes will be tallied by the moderator and whoever has received the most will be lynched and be out of the game: remember, once killed you cannot take further part; do not reveal your roles to anyone until the game has been concluded.

Any ties in voting will result in a multi-lynch.

All win conditions are as normal - for evil factions they must be the last remaining evil faction, and equal the number of good players.

Players are strongly encouraged not to out other evil factions if they face death. Whilst I cannot make this an enforceable rule (as players will likely only do this when dying) all I can do is strongly encourage players not to go against the spirit of the game.

The Doctor will protect their target from death only.

At my discretion days will be sped up, however this will only occur if every player has voted, and the number of players is 10 or less. In this case, an hour grace period will be declared and then a Deadline will be declared. This is however at my discretion, and normal deadlines may still apply.

Role set:

Good:
Resistance (5)

Rosalie Calvert (Doctor) – Can choose to protect one person per night. Cannot protect the same person on consecutive nights.

Nick Burkhardt (Day Vig) – Can choose to either save a lynch victim from dying and the person with the second most votes is lynched instead OR choose to lynch someone regardless of what the village thinks. Cannot save the same lynch victim on two consecutive days.

Trubel (Night Vig) – Gets one kill per night regardless of what the village thinks

Munro (Seer) – Learns the role of one other player per night

Adalind Schade (Good Witch) – Can recruit a wesen (only a wesen will work) each night phase and they join her in a PM (effectively flogs). Adalind gets a seer every second night and seer through night immunity. If a recruit is killed during the night phase they are recruited, then no one will be recruited. If Adalind is killed, the wesen remain in a PM, but cannot recruit anyone else and lose their right to a seer.

Wesen (Villagers)

Win condition:

Eliminate all evil and neutrals.

-----

Evil:

Royals: (4)
The Royal Families have been in operation for centuries, potentially even before the Crusades that put the Grimms in their employment. They are ruthless, extremely wealthy, and powerful, so they pose a large threat to the Wesen community, especially since they wield the command of the Verrat.

King (Godfather) – Immune at night, seers as a villager.

Viktor (Deputy Godfather) – Assists with the nightly kill, is a bad arse.

Baron Samedi (Intimidator) – Can choose to intimidate one player who can only post textless gifs or images during the following day phase.

Eric Renard (Hitman) – Assists with the nightly kills

Basically:
  • One kill
  • One seer
  • One intimidation

Win condition:

Must eliminate all other evil, neutral and outnumber the resistance.

-----

Black Claw: (4)

Black Claw, also known as Schwarzkralle (SCHVAHRTZ-krah-luh; Ger. "black claw"), was a group of Wesen intent on living in a world where Wesen do not have to hide their true selves from society, and they were not hesitant to kill anyone who stood in their way, including any Wesen who refused to join them or weren't a part of their cause. They did not view the latter group of Wesen as family or fellow "brothers and sisters."

Conrad Bonaparte (Alpha) – Immune at night, seers as a villager.

Rolf Kleinager (Beta) – Takes over the role of Alpha if Conrad Bonaparte dies.

Anselmo Baledin (Role blocker) – Can choose to block one player’s role per night.

Rachel Wood (Cub) – Assists with the nightly kills and the Wolves get an extra kill in retribution if the cub dies.

Basically:
  • One kill
  • One seer
  • One role block

Win condition:

Eliminate all other evil, neutral and outnumber the resistance

-----

Neutral: (1)

Juliette Silverton (Torturer) – Night Immune. Chooses one player she can “torture”. Each night she makes one kill, BUT it is left in the hands of someone else, ie. She picks two players and a third player must decide which one dies. If the person picked is night immune, then no-one will die. The person being tortured must not post they have been tortured at any stage or they are killed. Juliette also gets one seer and is the ONLY one who can seers Alpha/GF as their actual role.

Basically:
  • One seer per night
  • One torture per night (pick two players for the torture victim)
Win condition:

Finish final four.

---

Phases: Due to being an early to bed, early to rise guy, I've just moved it an hour difference. It may be 7/11 though depending on NaturalDisaster's commitments.

Day phase: 10pm-6pm
Night phase: 6pm-10pm

May change*

Most certainly in!

Love the theme.
Thanks! I was hoping others have seen it. I've introduced the "Torturer" role just for something different, have two vigs, a good witch and recruiter (neutral) so I'm trying to mix a few things up, it can only miserably fail at worst but if it works out could be great!

Sorry buddy.

I just can't commit to this anymore. The fleeting breaks I get at work now don't allow me enough time to invest into it.

As evidenced by my putrid performance last game. (Though to be fair that was 50 % luck)
