Saturday night didn't go the way we wanted, but now we move onto the Carjin Greeves Medal and find out who will be crowned the Geelong Football Club best & fairest, 2020

So who will take home the honour tomorrow night... Will it be one of the 5 current players who has previously won the Carji - Ablett, Blicavs, Dangerfield, Hawkins & Selwood; or will someone new be walking away as a first time winner - Guthrie, Menegola or maybe Duncan...

From the club:

The 2020 Carji Greeves Medal will be held on Thursday night from 7pm AEDT.

The Member exclusive live streamed event will celebrate the achievements of players from throughout the 2020 season.

The night will also include player and coach interviews, the AFL Best and Fairest count, a tribute to our club greats with an event culminating in the presentation of the 2020 ‘Carji Greeves Medal.

Other award categories include the Tom Harley Best Clubman, Community Champion and Best Young Player.

The event will be hosted by Nathan Templeton and Geelong favourite Bill Brownless.

Captain Joel Selwood and Patrick Dangerfield already have three Carji Greeves Medals to their name and would join Garry Hocking and Dick Grigg as four-time best and fairest winners if they come out on top of the vote count on Thursday night.

Would not be surprised if Blicavs wins his third Carji Greeves Medallion.
I'm thinking he'll be top 3, and wouldn't be surprised if he won

But still backing in Guthrie

Stewart and Duncan missed a few games that will hurt them.

Stewart only missed 3 fewer games while Duncan missed 1 game.
Seems like Geelong's B&F is based around meeting yearly KPI's over gameday individual brilliance which is what I thought the best player from every club is based upon.

They both had a better year than Blitz IMO.

Probably unpopular but members only live stream is a s**t decision, let your fans watch the best and fairest especially in the middle of a pandemic.

On now right?
Since I opted out of a membership this year, any chance those who are watching could share a link, if shareable?

The big movers between rounds 6 & 14 are Cam Guthrie & Mark Blicavs, who have moved from 10th & equal 6th respectively into 1st & 2nd

Tom Hawkins is still holding strong in 3rd

After round 18 the top 3 hasn't changed, though Guthrie has slightly extended his league

Menegola making a late run at things having moved into 5th

Congrats Cap

In a year like no other, we have relied on our players to connect to our community including our wider community consisting of members, fans, sponsors and partners.

Joel has from day one put up his hand to assist the Club in any way, shape or form with this. More significantly, Joel has offered this support from the moment he came to the Club.

Joel has played a huge role in a number of our Community programs in 2020 such as Footy Cats at the annual Community Camp and promoting Auskick through his role as NAB Auskick Ambassador, Cats Care where he has assisted with multiple wishes and provided messages of support, and the Healthy Heroes program albeit, virtually.

Across his time at the Cats, Joel has been a successful leader not only on-field but off, guiding many players to be positive role models across all our Community programs.

Aside from his commitment to our Community programs, Joel continues to assist the Club with his ongoing support for our members, sponsors and partners.

We couldn’t be more proud to announce Joel for the 2020 Club Community Champion award.
