Too many leaks in the dam wall... plugged wha we cold but the leaks are too much.

And if you are off by 5% and these injuries, let her sing loud.

5-5 it is.

It ll get better but not anytime soon.

Going through our premiership players (and Sav/Holmes as "best 22"):

I would say Henry and Stengle for first games back just about get a tick, understandable they've faded for periods.

Hawkins played well. Some mistakes aside, Blicavs and Ratugolea as well. Smith's been decent. So let's say 6 have been alright as a collective.

Stewart, Cameron, MOC, Zuthrie, Kolo, Close, Miers, Atkins, Holmes, Parfitt, Tuohy, Bews not good enough.

You cannot get away with 12 premiership players being down on form at the same time.
They have a responsibility to perform when others are absent. They simply haven't.

Having another 5 or even 8 players back would paper over cracks and maybe even swing the last two games to wins. But let's not ignore the glaring errors and red flags all over the field for players that are in our very best 22. That's head in the sand stuff that only a few posters are indulging in.

Just missing to many.

No doubt there is a rebuild on the horizon. But for this particular year our only hope is if we are fit and healthy which we are clearly not.

So easy to score against this year also which could be personal or just not working hard anymore.

At least this group won a flag, not over yet this year as i still don't think there is a standout team but a frustrating night.

Atkins, Bruhn, Parfitt can all play a role but none are natural ball winners. In the last 9 days Taranto had 28, Brayshaw 33, Serong 28 against us. We don’t have a fit midfielder capable of those numbers.

We need our players back.

Danger
Guthrie
Duncan
DeKoning
Henry
Rohan
Stanley
Bowes

Get those back and we will be fine, but * it’s hard when you have your genuine VFL standard players out there.

The last 2 weeks have been incredibly frustrating.

At full strength, we would beat both these teams probably comfortably and pushing the top 4. Instead we lost them both and now are well behind the 8 ball. The old it's not who you play, but when was well in effect this last fortnight.

Hopefully we get some players back next week. Need to win them both and hitting the bye 7-5 isn't bad considering our outs.

Truly so far away from good system footy.
Use of the ball was very ordinary today too.
Bruhn has some promise for the future.
Knevitt was ok
Ceglar had a crack
OConnor and Sav in defense tried hard
Not much else

It's not so much 'paper over the cracks'.

It's more that blokes like Atkins are now copping all the opposition attention, whereas if Danger/Cuthrie/Duncan were there, he'd get like the 4th-5th best opponent and have a better chance of getting off the leash. Ditto some of the other mids and defenders who are now forced to play 'above' themselves in the absence of some key players.

In the midfield especially, we're basically in the position of a rebuilding team, with a bunch of young less-experienced players copping all the opposition heat because there's very few old heads and big bodies to help them out.

Unfortunately injuries is part of football, it's part of the game we play.... I think this year injuries will cost us top 4! Maybe the bodies getting older could be part of that, I. Not sure but that's the way the cookie crumbles...
To win the flag outside top 4 is slim...

Just don't think it's going to be our year sadly.

Too many players out, top 4 probably out of the question now and it's going to be hard to have a settled team for finals if this injury run continues.
