When we are in the 8 is the time and moving towards a premiership is the time. Otherwise you end up as an Essendon.
Yep, focus on the draft right now, build from within.

Foot skills and running. The write-ups on him are quite encouraging, might need a year in the gym.On the note of Carruthers, every one is focusing on his position. At his level that literally doesn't matter, he could be anything imo. The reason we picked him up are cause of foot skills.
Draft for talent, not position.
Though I don't think we take him if we get DGB
Would have been a value pick on the basis defenders would struggle to tell him apart from the good one. Would have been fun to watch the confusion. No will Papley

Anyone else think that this is the first time in a long time that every player we took in the national draft stands a good chance of being in the team in round 1?
Happens when you're a bottom four teamAnyone else think that this is the first time in a long time that every player we took in the national draft stands a good chance of being in the team in round 1?
Not necessarily, Saints recruited well at the end of 2019 while a bottom 4 team having just appointed Ratten. When we are in the 8 is the time and moving towards a premiership is the time. Otherwise you end up as an Essendon.
No can’t see Gulden getting a game unless we have significant injuries.Anyone else think that this is the first time in a long time that every player we took in the national draft stands a good chance of being in the team in round 1?
Going to be hard to beat Rowell for the Rising Star.Terribly disappointed with our trade period but redeemed ourselves with the draft.
Campbell looks ready for rd 1, carries himself as a senior player and those kicks are what dreams are made of. Loading up on him for rising star
DGB was never going to break a game open so I don't see your logic here.I just dont think he's that type. He'll also be dealing with our midfield delivery.
Lets see, he has a great conversion rate so there is definately a possibility he becomes that forward. Hopefully some Buddy stardust rubs off on him.
I'm still on the DGB bandwagon... so i'm a little biased.

Different position, different expectation.
I just have a feeling DGB has the higher ceiling.
Pretty close to Rd 1 I reckon. Think Stephens will be in either for injury or Hayward or Florent.Good depth coming through
Cunningham, Melican, Rampe
Mills, McCartin, Lloyd
Hewett, Blakey, Dawson
Hayward, McDonald, Reid
Papley, Franklin, Heeney
Hickey, Parker, Rowbottom
Fox, Florent, Campbell, McInerney
Reserves - Gulden, COR Brand, Stephens etc

Lets be fair dinkum here - key forwards don’t really dominate until their mid 20’s.Pretty close to Rd 1 I reckon. Think Stephens will be in either for injury or Hayward or Florent.
For sure McDonald will get a run in the trials but maybe not Rd1. Probably Stephens to replace.
Mcdonald was the leading goal kicker in the WAFL this year. He played against men. Yes AFL is a step up but I still think he will play round 1. Our team could look a bit different next year as the picks we have made are all ready to go.Lets be fair dinkum here - key forwards don’t really dominate until their mid 20’s.
McD needs time. We can’t expect game breaking performances in his first few years.
Buddy will be a special guest star, nothing more.
We desperately need the Haywards and Reids to step up. Heeney & Papley can’t do it all.
Kennedy gets a run you'd think?Pretty close to Rd 1 I reckon. Think Stephens will be in either for injury or Hayward or Florent.

Still over the moon we didnt take a defender at pick 4.

Theres a pre-season supplementary selection period.. that goes from Jan to March.
I think this involves mainly players that are invited to train in the pre season. Paddy did a little last year, If he does more this year, then you'd have to give him a chance. Paps brother might join, a ruck might also join??
People on here reckon we've 1 rookie spot left - I can't work it out so happy to go with that.
So the Swans can pick up a rookie during this time
