Not sure McGovern is a certainty to miss is he? Where’d you hear that?

They reckon Hurn and Kennedy will be back.
It looks likely McGovern will miss judging by the footage here. No McGovern, Shuey, Yeo and Ryan seems likely. Kennedy seems 50/50 by reports.

We have a week of training to turn Treacy into a defender :)
Random thought really, but if Kennedy is back and Cox is out, our defence lacks a bit...,,,,Treacy would at least add some physical pressure on someone like Allen or the bloke with the odd looking mullet....

I was thinking last night, that I'm seeing more traits of a key defender in Treacy that I am a forward.

All these arguments for keeping Treacy in the side is making me paranoid that it's some elaborate collective joke that I'm not apart of.

In games we've won comfortably against poor opposition, he hasn't troubled the scoreboard, hasn't taken a contested mark since his first game and has turned over the football seven times from his 20 disposals.

His disposal efficiency at the moment is the third worst in the league (Liam Henry the worst).

I get your point but Kennedy is one of the best forwards in the modern game vs a rookie forward playing as a defender.... not pretty. Would be a good learning for Treacy as a forward though.

The arguments to keep Treacy in are getting flimsy, the level looks above him right now so he needs to find form at Peel. We have a readymade player in Sturt who should be in our best forward lineup, so it’s a no brainer.

Duman for Cox makes sense.

And Tucker is an upgrade on Crowden but it may be a week early.

Our forward line has functioned so much better with Treacy in the team - he ain't going anywhere. A bit like Fyfe when the goals start flowing for him, we will all see why he adds so much more to the team than throwing in another smaller midfielder

Watson was one of the emergencies, which makes me think he will be preferred to Duman (I personally prefer Duman).

I don’t mind the idea of Treacy spending some time in other positions such as defence as part of his development, but not this week. He would get slaughtered.

I’m 50/50 on Treacy & obviously the coaches will know far more than us as to whether he is playing his role.

But one thing is for sure, Tabs is having more 1v1 contests than he ever has before & a part of that is Treacy leading at the ball & leaving space behind. Previously Lobb & Tabs have been very similar in wanting the long kick in & bringing both defenders to the contest.

The separation between our forwards is the best it’s been in years.

I think the question is whether the same can be achieved with Sturt, plus a bit of goal kicking.

Sturt is a small midfielder?

Treacy isn’t playing well, that’s fine he’s a kid, but let’s not pretend he’s the reason we are kicking goals and fall into the trap of not improving the team because we won.

This is our best chance to beat those bastards. We should kill them through the middle. I wouldn't mind a zero crowd this week, the ferals can stay home.

No changes unless Cox is injured. He had a wry smile on his face after the game so I'm thinking he is fine 🤞

Zero crowds..or the game in Melbourne. If north get exemptions, both WA clubs could for the next game.

The AFL will be monitoring what's happening here. If there's more cases today, there's a chance the footy will be cancelled here even with zero crowds. Play the game at the home of football.

I’m not sold on Treacy, but I’m sold on winning!

He tends to get on his bike and attempt to lead up. That’s going to be of massive importance against Eagles where they sit back and pick off high balls.

Like others have said. If he can drag his defender away, he plays his part.

No Shuey, Hurn, Ryan, McGovern, Yeo and a couple of others.

No excuses.

Yep that's what im thinking too. Lobb should be pn thin ice too, but in saying that he could be swung in the backline. If Logue plays deep and Lobb takes the CHF..it might be the shift that keeps him in the 22 over Meek.

Numerous times tonight treacy drew the defence away from Tabs. Forward line works it’s best in years.

treacy stays.

I agree playing decoy is the team thing. On the flip side he's not impacting when its his turn.

Sturt was barely sighted in his first game this year, but his ceiling is higher atm.

Lobb was ok. He’s been out with injury and this week was much better in the ruck. He is far better than Meek, and we need two rucks. Just don’t play him thinking he is a goal kicking forward. He is a forward marking target and he has been decent kicking into the 50. From memory both Taberner and Treacy dropped marks from him.

I don't know if Treacy not getting a touch is because we are constantly burning him. I do know that we are WAY too Tabs centric though. He's not Buddy/Carey/Pav etc.

I get Josh/Lobb are young/terrible at kicking but there were numerous times we burnt a spare man inside 50 to kick it to Tabs in a pocket, sometimes 2 or 3 vs 1.

Darcy had to kick it over Freddy standing on his own to Tabs at one point.

If Cox doesn't get up would there be any chance they roll the dice on Hamlng early? Listed as two weeks off last week, I know they said that he'll be back through the WAFL but will they gamble if they're feeling desperate?

And I read above Lobb is far better than Meek?? Not on current output he isn't. Very underwhelming couple of weeks from him.

Out Treacy, Crowden
In Sturt, Tucker

Just think Sturt has more natural forward instincts than Treacy - needs to apply more pressure than his previous games though, Treacy isn't really cutting it at the moment - as mentioned needs to get some confidence hopefully in the WAFL (assuming it can be played next weekend).

If Cox misses then Tobe Watson comes in - Logue to Kennedy, Ryan to Darling, Watson on Allen - could stretch the defence, so we will need to stop the ball from going in, and then provide cover if it does.
