Yes Stringer is worth 3 firstsI know this was posted a couple of months ago but still.
Daniher was on the table for 9 and future first (5). 3347 points.
Dunkley on the table 8 and future second (~25). 2307 points.
That’s a pick 14 difference. That’s before you include that Daniher couldn’t get on the field at that point. Plus pick 8 was worth nothing to the dogs because of JUH. So it makes the comparison even more lopsided.
With this in mind Stringer worth 3 firsts?
9 goals in 5 games against top 8 sides vs 12 in 5 games against bottom 10 is hardly being a flat track bully, like you're implying.Averages dont tell you consistency.
Bruce averages 3 goals a game but if you exclude the Roos game its 2 goals a game.
An in depth review would look at performance against top 9 teams vs bottom 9 teams, totals as well as averages.
And it would show Stringer doing far better against 10 to 18 teams.
Greene kicked 5 against Melbourne and 4 against the Dogs. Stringer kicked 4 against Hawthorn.

There are only 18 players averaging 2+ goals a game in the AFL. It's not world beating but not really average. If we can get a 40 goal year out of him he's worth a 4 year deal on decent money.True. I guess it shows mostly average all around. Not what you would hope for from someone after a big long term contract.
Will stay IMOlittle bump.
One of the last high profile players without a contact next year, will he stay or go?
Yep - Will want 4 but 3 looks like the correct move. The dollars will be the interesting factor. Now Darcy has signed will be interesting if he gets a big pay day. Will stay IMO
Not after tonight's effort, basically unsighted against a bottom 4 team.Apparently knocked back our most recent offer. I just don’t see why we’d give him the big bucks.
Unsighted? Had 23 disp 13 contested 6 tackles and a goal. Wasn't at his most electric but hardly unsighted. Not after tonight's effort, basically unsighted against a bottom 4 team.
Apparently knocked back our most recent offer. I just don’t see why we’d give him the big bucks.
The issue doesn't seem to be about dollars from what I'm reading, its the triggers. Essendon wants to have a lot of incentive based elements and triggers, Stringer wants a fixed amount.Apparently knocked back our most recent offer. I just don’t see why we’d give him the big bucks.
I’d imagine just a bit of behind the scenes posturing and negotiations.Hmmm, seems to be a bit entitled.
I thought the commentators were saying he’s about to sign?Apparently knocked back our most recent offer. I just don’t see why we’d give him the big bucks.
They’re actively negotiating but it’s not quite that closeI thought the commentators were saying he’s about to sign?
Jake loves money more though like a lot of players. Not knocking him but it’s a business and a short career.I’ll be surprised if Jake leaves loves it at Essendon.
A deal will get sorted Essendon want Jake to stay and he wants to stay

smart play by essendon hereThe issue doesn't seem to be about dollars from what I'm reading, its the triggers. Essendon wants to have a lot of incentive based elements and triggers, Stringer wants a fixed amount.
