J McLachlan won

Maybe, but didn't think they haven't finished the count yet because they have just completed the VFLW presentations

McLachland did win the following though

Think Sammy & Buzza can considering themselves a little unlucky to not get an opportunity at senior level this year

Congrats to the youngster - hopefully he gets a chance to show his stuff at senior level next year

Where the hell was Constable in the votes?

He only played the 12 games, got injured during 1 - so really only 11 games to poll votes in.

Waiting to see if the VFL release a top 20 leader board because he could be between 15 & 20, based on the scores from the first 10 rounds of the season

The Voting Process

After each match, Cats coach Shane O’Bree rates every player out of 15 and the VFL assistant coaches combine to rate each player out of 15.

This gives each player a score out of 30 every week, with the individual player’s best 18 games (out of a possible 20) tallied to produce their final score for the season.

So Constable player 12 games, and 5 times in the Best, but wasn't in the Top 20?!

Injured in one game so he won't poll highly from that effort, leaving 11 games for votes.

He may have been named in the bests 5 times, but who is naming those bests? He was rated 1 or 2 only twice, his other 3 games in the bests he was rated 4 or 5.

He may have snuck into the top 20 by the end of the season. The last released top 20 votes was round 17, at that stage Constable had only played 7 games and he's best performances in regards to the position in the bests came in the last 5 games.

We don't know how many points he picked up on the last 5 weeks and if he jumped into the top 20

Saw Simpson play in the final vs Port and was very impressed - he was clearly our best - daylight to the rest. Aside from very good foot and great evasion skills, I was really impressed by his hard tackling - a good effort against a mature aged, strong bodied Port mid field group. Whilst not elite - his pace and spread was pretty good also - perhaps this is the only thing that is making it hard to find a clear spot. Although physically bigger this year, he could also perhaps do with a couple more kilos.

I really hope we can give him another chance at AFL level in 2020. I’d be looking for a wing spot with some minutes in the middle. Even though a fourth year player, I’d be getting him back early in the gym and track to give him best shot for 2020.
