You don't agree with Elijah himself, who pled guilty? Imo I don't even think that should be a prerequisite for us cutting him, but he's guilty full stop, and not sure why we should have considered keeping him.
Anyway, happy we now have the extra spot to plan for.
You are free to do that. I'm free to point
out that one of the most respected coaches in the league probably has a reasonable grasp on he current state of the game.

Some werid picks in this one after the top 5. A good listen though.
4. (Swans) Holland (We drafted his dad too apparently)
Campbell at 9 - bid from Dons
Gulden at 19 - bid from GWS

There’s a constant debate on here about selecting based on ‘need’ versus ‘best available’. GWS might simply be going with what they consider ‘best available’.Of all players the Giants need?
Instant coffee and a dart works for me every time.
You're a lot more confident than Kinnear was. We'll take them both. Make no mistake. We won't spilt them. Best of mates from that clip & waste of time going through the whole exercise of an academy if we aren't prepared to invest in players that will be unlikely to leave our club before their prime, as would be the case with a draftee next year who may come from Victoria. Take who we know now.
Sorry for my pedantic ways. I prefer the term on ballers to differentiate between centre line players and old school "followers." I take your point about our engine roomers ( the on ball getters )and the outside receivers. Stephens could well develop into a ball getter - seems to have poise with his decision making which makes him special. But like you, I see the best value in selecting Phillips if available. McInerney will be real special.I was referring to our inside mids, where our problem lies. Not the wing, where we have a host of quality options. Thought that would've been obvious by the fact I was arguing Blakey, Campbell etc won't be full-time mids as they won't be at our centre bounces full-time.
I'm not sure I share your emphasis on strict designated titles and roles, particularly in this era of flooding where basically everyone plays everywhere.

Would be very disappointed if we get Hollands as it would give us an indication that the Swans coaches don't see our inside mids as an issue. Also Hollands is too big a risk with our first good draft pick in 20 years.
Yep, totally understand. Just pointing out that some people believe that a club may legitimately draft based on ‘best available’ with no, or little, regard for specific needs at that point in time. That’s what caused them to have 100 KP players! They need defenders and or KPP players now badly or line breaking mids
So will Jones for PA. We'll have enough pointsReef McInness will go before Gulden lock that in
He's an odd one. Collingwood have 14, 16, 65, 70.
If he was bid at say 17, which is after their two first picks, they wipe out the rest of this draft and severely compromise next year with carryover points.
But it would be a waste for Collingwood to just take him with one of their picks, as they would lose the 20% discount.
It's an awkward one for them.

Downie. Walker from Freo probably gets picked before him but its semantics, they'll both be after GuldenHawks have one too forget the name

Hollands could easily end up the best player in the draft! If he wasn’t off a knee would we even be having the debate?
