Complete load of shit as usual, apparently a 'weak / shallow draft' and 8 clubs get A or A+View attachment 1026989

So half a guy went for Hollands, but the other half of him went for DGB?
Well it's just as well that he didn't have an early pick. Picking half of each player would have made for some confusion. One guy refused to split Hollands and DGB.

That's an interesting idea. Parker would certainly acquit himself capably as a permanent in the forward line. Does Heeney have the engine to be an on baller? Maybe as a shock troop in the way that Swan was used at Collingwood? Asked to go hard in short bursts, rather than conserving energy to run all day?To be honest I would swap Parker's and Heeney's roles. I would move Heeney to become a full time inside mid, and I would move Parker to becoming a forward who goes into the midfield reasonably often. I think that would suit them both better.
Carey was a bully...but Jackovitch could not be bullied by Carey. I think the intimidation factor reversed each time they played on one another. Carey was always more fearful of Jackovitch.Seems strange that the only people who seem to be saying we should have taken DGB over McDonald are those here on Big Footy. Every media EXPERT (who should know a lot more than we do) have stated that "we got a steal in McDonald. Don't know how he fell through to 4." All the ones that I have read anyway.
For all those who are hanging their opinion on the one game they played against each other this year where DBG had the better of him - just think of this:
For those who remember the game in the 90s there was a great defender in Glenn Jackovich. At the same time there was a great CHF in Wayne Carey. Back in these days they played one on one - no rubbish team defence we have to put up with today.
Quite regularly, Jackovich had the better of Carey yet if you were a recruiter and had the choice of the two, who would you take?
Taking McDonald instead of DGB was a no brainer. Key forwards are the most difficult of all players to find.
Granted, he will take a few years before we see the best of him as he needs to gain body strength, but so be it.

We needed someone to replace StoddardGood call. And he's not expensive, so if it doesn't work out the loss is small. If it does - yippee!
Well, it is against the law.I don't think there is any coincidence in this.
You continue to state that Parker's a poor inside mid due to his lack of inside 50s. The pure role of an INSIDE Mid is to get the ball in the congestion and distribute it to the outside runners. As a result, a very successful inside mid should not get many inside 5os. They should be based on one stat, and one stat alone and that is clearances. How? As a midfielder I think Parker would be in the second All Australian team, as an inside midfielder, he would be in the 7th All Australian team. I don't think that is super controversial.
How is choosing to take draftees from WA & SA rather than Vic against the rules?Well, it is against the law.

What law does it break?Well, it is against the law.
You need to scroll back through. He was being funny. What law does it break?
Actually, probably not that funny, but thanks for the support lolYou need to scroll back through. He was being funny.
Not entirely. Look at the top 10 inside 50's players in 2020
1. Martin
2. Dangerfield
3. Merrett
4. Cousins
5. Bontempelli
6. S.Bolton
7. Neale
8. Viney
9. Florent
10. Macrae
So while not every player on that list is an inside midfielder, a lot of them are, and many of them the best inside mids in the competition.
Martin - 63.68% disposal efficiency (rank 432)dangerfield massively overrated. sure he gets plenty of the ball but his disposal efficiency is trash. regularly ranks outside the top 400 in the comp for disposal efficiency.

Denlijah Gra??? Barlands does have ring to it... good luck to the commentatorsWell it's just as well that he didn't have an early pick. Picking half of each player would have made for some confusion.
Paddy McCartin is working through what his next step in football will be after Sydney made the tough call to overlook him in the rookie draft
...
Sources close to McCartin said the 24-year-old was working through his options but he was unlikely to train on with Sydney in the hope of being chosen in the supplementary selection period and it is unclear whether he will be invited to train at another AFL club.
...
The Swans, who have a rookie spot unfilled, are open to him potentially playing for their VFL and East Coast second-tier team. They are leaving decisions in the hands of McCartin who played most recently in the pre-season of 2018 but want to support him in his return to football in any way possible.

In many ways I am relieved.
I'd be sitting on the edge of my seat each time Paddy flew for a mark - was in a pack.

the news broke of the English hooker from their victorious 2003 World Cup campaign saying he can no longer remember the match, and sometimes not even his wife’s name, despite being only 42. He is one of eight litigants, including Australia’s own Michael Lipman, 40, who are suing World Rugby and the English Rugby Union for what they claim is their culpability in allowing them to suffer repeated concussions despite being aware of the long term dangers.

Why breakdancing at the Olympics is not as crazy as we think
For all the talk about a return to “tradition”, one of the key traditions of the Olympics is to evolve over the decades, adding and shedding sports as it goes.www.smh.com.au
