Lance Franklin
Lance Franklin is a giant of the game. The star Sydney Swans forward has played 300 AFL games, won two premierships with Hawthorn, is the seventh-greatest goal-kicker in VFL/AFL history, is one of just five men with eight All Australian blazers and is the most recent player to have kicked 100 goals in a season. The Western Australian is also one of just two players in the game’s history, along with former Swan and Saint Tony Lockett, to have booted 300 goals for two clubs. Franklin was added to a leadership group for the first time in his career ahead of season 2020, joining co-captains Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Dane Rampe, as well as Callum Mills. But the 33-year-old, who was named captain of the 2018 All Australian team, has long been considered an exceptional unofficial leader, so great is his impact on Will Hayward, Nick Blakey, Ben Ronke and the rest of Sydney’s young forwards.

Lance Franklin
DOB: 30 January 1987
DEBUT: 2005
DRAFT: #5, 2004 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Dowerin (WA)/Perth (WAFL)/Hawthorn

He has 20 games max left in his career IMO.

Disagree entirely. Still in great form when on the park and the only reason he was off the park so much this year is he got no preseason thanks to the medical team deciding to send him for surgery at the last minute instead of sending him into surgery at the end of the 2018 season. With a full preseason he will be far more durable.

That's a fair call, but so is mine based on the last 2 years & he has had more surgery & is older.
His best is behind him & I believe he won't play the last year of his contract. If he does it will be another patchy season & it won't be of any benefit to the club.

A good thing Buddy has over other forwards is he does have a frame that is better suited for longer careers. If he loses a bit of weight even more so. Riewoldt played for a long time with a similar frame. Also we won't need Buddy for all of the 2023 season, simply having him fit and firing for finals should be the goal.

Well I would be extremely happy if he did that for the next 4 years because it would mean we have gone deep into the finals 4 years on end.

It's minor knee surgery mate, don't be dramatic, It's a setback but I still expect a big season from him.
10 weeks off from now. Means he’s back in April. With another ruined pre-season. :'( Was looking very good pre-Xmas but I must say his physique and history suggests he won’t be a Fletcher/Reiwoldt/Morris type to play beyond 35.

Well done John ran him into the ground take a bow
Did Longmire kill your cat or something? Every post on here you manage to get a dig at longmire in.
You were once one of the most enjoyable posters on here, fun and lighthearted, but now all of your posts are straight out vitriol.

Serious question, do you miss 10 weeks from minor knee surgery?

Minor knee surgery is usually a 4 week return to full training, 10 weeks seems a little more than minor

Its in the upper end for recovery for a simple arthroscope procedure but his body has been absolutely battered i cant imagine the joint is in good condition after so many surgeries :(
