Autopsy 8 point loss to Essendon

Doubt Mitchell will be fit. Copped a knee to the head and didn't return. Hanily very quiet yesterday. Our best of the listed players was Ladhams followed by Kirk. Snell was very average. Green and Bowman were supposedly playing but both might as well have not been there. Adams looked cooked and disinterested. Buller OK but tough to get a read on him given the crap work done up field. Never thought I'd say this at the start of this season but if we want to bring in a mid size player, Kirk is most probably the one in best form and might offer the most.

Cupboard is bare.........

Kirk is not the answer.

To any question.

Wait until these flogs see JUH kicking 60-70 goals a season for us for the next 8 years, we have no one on our list remotely capable of that. Don't be fooled by Amartey, Logan during grand final years kicking 40-50 goals. We had an unbelievable run last year. Was such an outlier.

People forget Buddy had his own demons early on in his career and even Jesse Hogan (look at him now). A fresh start in Sydney with strong mentorship will sort him out. Let's go. JUH is only 23.
Where will the strong mentorship come from ?

Bit frustrated still at the club we are becoming…. more of a social organisation than a football club. We need to get back to focussing on our core business.

For a team that started last year 13-1, win the minor premiership and make the Grand Final, to potentially later today be on the same number of wins as Richmond after 9 rounds is an indictment on the club.

Being at yesterday’s game, the one statistic that I think needs serious scrutiny is the seven 50’s we gave away. I cannot fathom how a professional AFL side can do that. Yes, injuries have affected our season but injuries do not give away seven 50’s. Something is wrong.

I would rather have Logan fit and have a roaming JUH in our forwardline. If we are relying on McLean, Amartey types well can’t see either of them taking us to the promised land so to speak. Let’s put the off field stuff to the side and does JUH the footballer make us a significantly better side? He’s an AA talent forward when up and about

He's an AA talent is he? that has never performed at that level with any sort of consistency. This is not a proven player we are talking about, lot of flash for sure.

So does he make us better, no no guarantee imo.

Also the off field stuff can't and shouldn't be put to one side imo. You have to consider it and you have to do the due diligence, yes clubs can help turn around players absolutely , but this seems to me a full on dickhead .

Also his output is nothing special , no better than Logan. I'd rather back the guy in we have invested in. If you get JUH cheap sure, but bet he wouldn't humble himself.

I'd literally take the other 2 tall dog forwards ahead of him, give me Fogarty from the Crows etc , anyone else

Did Barry do half of the things JUH has done? Did he get made basically inactive by the AFL?

This, I mean Barry was just undisciplined and same reason we cut him in the end, wasn't a complete deadshit

Probably done for the season unfortunately.

No point in rushing blokes back , just get fit and at least on the park with some continuity

Personally think we shouldn't rush people back either way, it never works see Mills last year (yes i wanted him back in last year)

Florents was the worst - total brain fade from a low IQ player.

I'd rather see the club back itself with elite talent than put with up with 2-3 more years of the way we played against Essendon.
Half-arsed efforts and also how we played against Suns, Power, Lions where we were in a winning or could have been in a winning position but don't play all qtrs, or get a 5+ goal smashing in one of them.

Each to their own but I disagree he was near the best forward in the comp when he was dialled in and playing. Look can we get him back to that who on earth knows but if you ask me am ai willing to gamble and roll the dice the answer is yes. Geelong did with Stengle haven’t looked back. Being nice gets you nowhere

Our form from mid year last year has been bottom 4 standard our percentage from there till now is 92 ish. That is bottom 4-6, it’s hardly some new thing that’s occurred this year

That 5 minutes he was dialled in for is hardly compelling proof he is a gun.

Stengle was picked up his a delisted player right! We getting JUH for cheap are we ?

are the two situations comparable ? not at all imo

It will be a dead set throwaway pick so yeah whoever picks him up it won’t be for a lot. Worth a punt worst comes to worst it doesn’t work. Least we tried to hit a home run and it won’t cost much at all. Some random F3 for instance likely won’t make it anyway

Sure if you literally pay him nothing and get him for bugger all of trade capital it's more tempting. but as if that's happening

I actually think it will be for stuff all. He will go for literally nothing. Throwaway 3rd or 4th
