Barely a clip, should it have been fined sure but was no more than low impact so wasn’t getting suspended anyway. There is a huge difference between that and Melicans. Flying in is fine Merrett almost got the pill it’s a football action.

Our first half last the game as usual we decided to play a quarter to half of football that’s it
You haven't looked it have you

You haven't looked it have you

I’ve seen it over a dozen times there’s nothing in it or minimal at best a fine would have sufficed. Move on and it didn’t cost us everything before that did how about we actually start a game well for once rather than be soft. Lost at the selection table, lost more in the way we played.

No he just has had time to take the emotion out of it.

Merrett gets the ball and barely clips Blakey with his tricep vs the forearm/fist from Melican directly to the nose/face.

Merrett the ball was in Blakey's hand vs Melican the ball was a meter away at contact

Merrett taps the ball vs Melican misses

3 different level ups imo which causes the big difference in suspension

Okay im now with the doom group on here , that was a pathetic performance against a shit team with as many out as us.
Time to piss a few off eg. McLean too slow and the worst one was when his oppo outmarked him and run off and McLean didn't chase , Paton is a VFL player , Florent has stagnated , Rampe is so gone he's making dumb decisions.

Hayward and Campbell were slightly better , but are tradable regardless of contracts , Cleary worries me and Sheldrick now HAS to get say a 5 game run starting on the ground
Cox is making some massive blunders , but having said that he has good players out

The club as a hole is too f ing nice , worry about too many issues off the ground and being nice we say nothing about getting reemed by yellow maggots every week
Thank god i have local footy

You'd love to be able to drop players, but we don't have players banging the door down at VFL level. Realistically, they aren't even knocking at the door, because they haven't pulled into the driveway yet. Ladhams is the only one you could consider and the biggest problem with that is, if you pick him, he can't even play in his suited role, because that's being held by one of the guys who is actually playing decent footy.

Hanily - poor this week in VFL, really good the week before. Could be forgiven given the VFL team got flogged, there wasn't a huge amount of opportunity

Mitchell - unsighted after a decent showing last week, he needs to be dominating this level in his position.

Kirk - had a good game numbers wise, but the weeks prior not much doing.

Buller - I would like to see him get a crack, but he just hasn't shown as much after starting at the club brilliantly.

The defenders haven't had much continuity with injuries, so they are hard to get a gauge on.

Adams - is really the only other one likely, coming off one VFL game after 9 weeks off, but at least you know he will put in.

Most probably play Blakey on McKay because, you know, Blakey is now a key defender..........

Least let us know before the game who Blakey is playing in Cox asking for a friend lol

Cleary made a few mistakes, but I thought he kept fighting all game and his pressure was really good. One of few positives.

Don't see how calling a spade a spade is being negative. How on earth can you watch the first half last week and say 'they tried their best'. This was after actually putting in the week prior, why does it take us to play GWS for the players to actually put in and I'm talking from the first bounce not the 3rd quarter. It's the collective too from the captain down to the last player. Apart from Grundy, Rowbottom and Chad can you name another guy who put in the whole game? There is the issue beside anything else. These players have got away (especially last year) of rubbish burst footy, it's not sustainable.

Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

Francis and Hamling are not AFL standard, they have a couple of good games but then they return to their standard.

Buller, Snell, Edwards, Mitchell, etc. might not be any better, but they deserve a chance to show what they have. We already know the others aren't up to it.

Lloyd is past it. For too long he gets the ball off half back and completely stalls our forward momentum as he stops and looks for options before kicking long down the line. No quick switching, no quick corridor. His inaction allows the opposition defense to get set.

Why are we continuing to put the ball in the hands of players who cannot hit a target? Campbell threads needles with his boot, but instead we give the ball to Jmac who is only capable of putting scrubbers along the ground.

Something needs to change. Crisis creates opportunity. At the moment, we're in crisis, the players aren't taking their opportunities, and the coach isn't willing to give opportunities to the next in line.

We're just stagnating as a team while we wait for players to return. This isn't sustainable. Especially considering how many draft picks we have wasted over the last few years with players who are no longer with us or just aren't good enough. Our drafting has failed and our development has failed.

Konstanty, Stephens, Gould, Vickery, Mitchell, Ling, Taylor. Now we've got Bowman doing nothing and Dattolli injured. Along with a stalled McDonald and a stalled Campbell.

The worst part of it all is the constant lack of care and effort that we see from the players week in and week out these days. Something is deeply rotten at the Swans, and I think this is just the beginning of a very bad stretch for us.

Agree, needs to play as an inside mid the rest of the year. This year should be about finding out what works heading into next season. I thought he was like the whole side though much better in the second half.

McLean because he's big we give him space , he's no good , i watched him and Amartey in later juniors and Joel has twice the ability.
I don't care about the knockers but we are obviously missing Errol , but Papley is massive for us

Sheldrick gets 1st crack before him , he has 3 more disposals in a half the game time

The refusal of the coaches to try anything different is a huge issue, I mean everyone knows my thoughts on Francis and the last 3 weeks we've seen it, one quarter was fools gold with him and now watch Cox think he's the messiah for 10 weeks.

Lloyd is dreadful and don't even get me started on his take an eternity and then make the worst option on top of it. If you want to be a kicking side hey that is what they tell us somehow...how are we having our two worst kicks at the moment on the wings in Jmac and LLoyd? I don't want to move BC he's finally set in his role as the half forward. I would rather shift Caiden Cleary inside and shift someone else wide.

Can we also ditch the idea that Jordan HAS to be a tagger his best game this year against Freo he won the ball, play him as a genuine ball winning midfielder thanks, it's a luxury to play one as a tagger we don't have that luxury now, get back to basics, he will defend anyway as he knows that like the back of his hand.

I'd honestly play both inside, I agree with you but yes. Honestly least they may give a toss rather than the other insides not caring for a half.

If this is McLean's output why on earth can't we at least try Buller. For the record I don't know if it will work, but McLean and his usual 3-5 possessions with the defensive pressure of zero isn't it. Honestly I know players are out, well play Hayward out of the square, I mean you tell us you are a kicking side, well here's an idea lower your silly eyes and hit up leading half forwards.

It's not all bad news. Fox is apparently 2 weeks away.

Oh goody now that's a positive post for the Swans Insta coming to make everyone completely forget how bad we are.

I'd be fine keeping Campbell on half forward if that's where he's most comfortable, personally I'd rather see him on the wing with the ball in his hands over JMac and Lloyd but I can certainly see the argument for keeping him there this year while he develops. My main problem with Campbell as half forward is that it doesn't maximise his kicking ability, and our delivery inside 50 is so poor. Hanily probably needed a stint in the VFL, but he can be a pressure small forward and we need those badly.

Lloyd needs to go. 100% agree with this. His time is up. Paton was a wasted signing too.

Also agree that Jordon doesn't need to be a tagger. I'd be happy to see him as a defensive winger.

Sheldrick and Cleary need to be given a chance in the middle. Sheldrick has had some shockers sure, but he has improved and we should persist with him otherwise he'll just go the way of Stephens.
