I'd say it definitely did against GWS early season.
Maybe but that game seems to be an outlier rather than a trend. Consider also how many young and 1st year players we're running with at the moment. I think it's a credit to Burgess that the young ones have held up as well as they have.

Adelaide played better, but made too many simple mistakes such as missed set shots. This has been our problem all season.

The Lions aint winning the flag unless they step up their game themselves because sides like Melbourne and Collingwood will not allow that shall they dominate possession and scoring shots in a game.

Brisbane have been to the finals the last 4 seasons, last season was their best run with the prelim from outside the top 4. If they want to go all the way this year they need to step up their game. Home ground = means nothing. There time is now to win it and they need to earn it.

Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?

Finishing out close games is key to being a contender. The comp is even enough at the top that you aren't generally going to dominate.
Lack of experience has cost us close games imo & difference to us playing finals this year.

Hopefully we win more close games once most of the side have played more than 50 games.

We will be much better now Gunston is out of the side. We look much better with a 2 tall forward line. When Gunston was out of the side we had great forward pressure. Not that you want to see injured players but it has forced Fagans hand to do what has to be done.

I think every lions fan knows we need to step it up. We are hoping the boys can get back some form as we have been very poor the last few months.

This will be our 5th run into finals. We need to make the grand final at least this season IMO. But from a fans point of view it has been so much nicer winning 13 to 16 games a year then where we were.

I think we have the cattle. Just need them to find some form and play to their abilities. The same abilities that have seen us beat the pies convincingly (yes at home but we get another crack next week away) and lead a very good Melbourne side to only just go down by 1 point at the G.

To say we can't win it this year is wrong. But that's not me saying we will win it either.

Nice acting job from Hipwood, rolling around like he's copped a big hit in the guts and needs an ambulance, life threatening stuf. Two minutes later kicks a goal as if nothing happened.

No doubt medical report will be vicious, classic bears getting players suspended for nothing again.
Lol nothing again? I don’t know how you spend you’re nights but last I heard twisting someone testies was a reportable offence

Let’s not pretend Collingwood and Melbourne don’t have their own issues.

It’s been a super close season. We match up well on both teams.

We’re winning without playing our best football. We’ll be fine.

Btw, Pies had more scoring shots against us last time and still lost pretty comfortably.

Also. Teams like Adelaide, Freo and to a lesser extent Gold Coast were always going to be tough prospects for any out of form top team. They are all teams who were still in the hunt for a finals spot. Never going to be easy.
