I think Jase is pretty accurate here. St Bernards were saved by Church who is a VFL regular and a very good one at that, and he kicked half their score, he won't play again I wouldn't think.
Hampton have a very tough run with a few apparently off O/S, as do Oakleigh and Blacks have been very inconsistent. If things pan out as expected, there will be a heap of unlucky teams who have performed well this year, and two clubs who will be lucky to win 6 in C next year if they don't rebuild.
BTW, Jase is a very astute judge.

It's a brave call by Jase, and what makes this grade even more interesting old sons is that the top four sides in the Seniors are sitting 5th to 10th in the Reserves.

brian, skob also have a pretty tough run with some away fixtures
ivanhoe are the ones to beat imo

so one player was the difference in your opinion?
was a good close game... after match was veyr well attended

writing any teams off at this stage of the year is fraught with danger

any team (barring oeg/mhsob) has the ability to beat the top 4 sides on their day.

Re: B Section 2010 - Part 1

The difference was bad kicking I think Murph, 3.5 to 3.0 in the second particularly. Good win to your boys though, thoroughly deserved. On form you would have to think that OC look the goods, but it is only round 10, half a season to go yet.
Some cracking games again this week, Ill get in early:

SKOB over OH by 20 points, man up on Voss PLEASE!!!
Hampton over Oakleigh easily
Carey over OI in the match of the round by 25 points
St Bernards over OEG by 40, last roll of the dice for OEG
Blacks over MHSOB by 55

Re: B Section 2010 - Part 1

Informed or out of form?
The latter.

THE EYE
Come on, not another alias, and I'm not referring to Mick or Cardio either.
Am I the only twit on here who sticks through this thick and thin and keeps the one username?
Off to pick up the young and drunk from around the town of love, pretty quiet out there on the roads I'm lead to believe. Thoughts are with Tayte Pears, get well soon young champ, all of us Dons fans are thinking of you.
Adios.

really too early to make a call but my gut feeling is that the top three (barring injury) are reasonably secure. not necessarily in that order however. the fourth pozzie is up for grabs. at the risk of being accused of stating the bloody obvious, vossy being available and firing for every game is the key to whether the bloods can hold the fourth spot. no one player is as important to their team as he is to the bloods.

how can you guys say that a team has a hard run home?? each team plays each other twice, so every team had exactly the same run home before last weekend!! and the fact that rovers played the top team last weekend now means that they have the easiest run home of any team.

was a good game OI and HR was a goal in it either way for the first half then rovers kicked away and had a 5 goal lead late in the 3rd. unfortunately for us OI then stormed home kicking 10 goals to 2 after that.

and 'local footy' was safe with his nudey run bet with weatherly and woodsy duel, as my sources tell me that woodsy was away for the game. hes a strong fella weatherly

Well said Joe,

And when we sum up at the end of the season why our club missed out on the finals:

UB 2/OH 0,
OAK 2 / MHSOB 0,
OI 2 / HR 0,
OC and OE (home win each)
ST B and St K (home win each)

and looking ahead to this week (from earlier rounds)

HR beat OAK away.
OI beat OC away.
ST B beat OE at home.
ST K beat OH at home.
UB beat MH at home.

Clearly no one picked up the fact that i said if he kicks that many on Woodsy!!! Woodsy didn't play, i thought Jesse did a pretty good job considering it was his first year out of under 19's and playing on a quality full forward!:thumbsu:

Clearly Woodsy picked up on it and understood the consequences.:p:p

This certainly has become a Hampton Rovers thread, which I don't mind of course, they are a great bunch down there, except for that dill Michael Flahive aka Uncle Mick.

Weird comp to pick, Blacks touching up 'my mob' OH last week was a real surprise, even Brett Voss kicking 6 in the third couldn't get us home.

The local derby in Essendon this week may be the last one for a very long time, with OEG heading to Club XV111 North 2 with a bullet.

Time to fire up the Yellow Peril and venture out into the world of the unknown, hopefully I'll pick up a bit of fluff who hasn't got any $$$ for the fare!!! ;)

Adios bitches.

Tips for this week

Hampton - Hard to beat at home
Old Carey - Showing some real form lately
St bernards - To much class
St Kevins - To bounce back from last week
MHSOB - In an upset

With all due respect, Spanner we lost our first 3 games at home and won our first 3 away. Hopefully the form of the last 2 homes games continues and gives your statement more merit.

UM,

Coach must have been disappointed in a 50 point turnaround from the 15 minute mark of the 3rd.

Did you ever think that the nudey run was to occur?

1 and 3 => Dowd and Coughlan (imo)

Speaking to a few of the boys, no one was happy with the result given we set ourselves up after half time. From what I'm told we were down to 20 men and were out on our feet being run over by a better team.

As for the nudey run, you'll have to speak to LF. His offer was if Weatherly kicked 10 on Woodsy, who was MIA on the weekend, hence the bet being a safe one for him.

Not quite sure what you mean re: Dowd & Coughlan.

It was 8 goals 6, Micky.

He means your numbers 1 and 3 are better than Dowd and Coughlan (i presume). Who is 1 and 3?

So Martyn should have won an AFL B&F, come on Maxxy.

I think he may mean at this point in time BS, clearly Coghlan isn't the same player he was when he won the B & F for Richmond. All 4 are guns in my book! Marto hasn't played much footy on the ball this year, only spurts, would probably say the weekend was the most he has played all year, in full flight he is a bloody good player as Max has alluded too!

That's taking it a bit far Briza, but he had the scouts all over him as a junior. Unfortunately for him, he was cut down by injuries and I don't think we've seen the best of him. He's only 24 and was a VFL regular 2 seasons ago, so we'd be expecting some good years out of him if his body can hold up.

Agree lads, but don't put too much pressure on him, he was in my best team a couple of weeks ago, as was Fletch. Fletch is silky smooth, I love watching him play.

Are you saying that Brett Voss kicked 6 goals in the 3rd quarter????
