Yes, honestly I do. Not even in the frame.

Fair enough. I’m not the biggest fan but hes past few years have impressed me. The second XI we sent over for the India tour wasn’t that crash hot and I don’t think his name would be that misplaced amongst those guys.

Maxi and Warner could go on forever so who knows but I only really expect Head, Marsh and Inglis to be mainstays from the batsman after next T20 WC.

I know that runners aren't allowed in international cricket, but I didn't know (or forgot) that they were still allowed in Big Bash.

The fixture will be important too in terms of who teams play once and who they play twice.
I reckon Brisbane can play 2spinners after tonight

A bowling attack of: Spencer Johnson, Neser, Kuhnemann, Swepson and Xavier Barlett can create a bit of fear in the comp.

The good thing is none of those players are likely to be taken away for international duty.

You reckon he’s that far off? Think he is in the conversation with David and Turner as a middle order specialist. They’ve been the best three in that role in the last three or so years.

He’s no chance. David has done it internationally in every comp he’s played in including the IPL

Early days but the Heat look good, they have a strong line up even without Khawaja, Marnus and Neser going on test duty.

The Stars look putrid though, apart from a gun in Maxwell they have a cooked Stoinis and a bunch of rejects and also rans from other teams.

Neser isn’t going on test duty. Marnus out is a positive for the Heat they were lucky he got out tonight

Neser should at least be in the test squad, they will probably go with Morris as he is the new shiny fast bowler but Neser is a better bowler.

Neser is averaging 52 with the ball in shield this year. Two reserves are Boland and Morris. Steketee some hope for a debut but watch for Buckingham if there’s an opportunity they might roll the dice. There’s also Jhye remember.

Yeah but he was meant to play PM game yet got withdrawn now playing here a couple of days later.
Think there is more to the explanation of "soreness" that we got. His partner recently had twins and there were some complications in the lead up to the birth, which is why he had to fly home after the start of the shield match against Tasmania 4 or 5 weeks ago. Wouldn't be surprised if he just wanted to stay at home as much as he could instead of going to Canberra for a week.

Colin Munro going for the healthy option after the game in the presser , in reference to the team and Max Bryant "we will share a bucket (KFC)" , now we know why he has put on a few pounds .
because his idea of sharing is taking all the chicken and leaving Max with the empty bucket? relatable!

Renshaw, McSweeney and Peirson are handy inclusions though. One of the better sides now that I think they've finally got a reasonable bowling attack (only took til BBL13).
I'm not saying they aren't a good side.
But the replacements are obviously not as good as the incumbents.

They will be there and there abouts.
LIke last year.

But depth will be crucial.

Renshaw is a better T20 player than Marnus, Brown will come in for Usman next match who is dynamic and could win matches off his own bat if he is on, obviously lacks the consistency you would get from Usman but imo could be a game changer. McSweeney will only get better the more T20 he plays, all format star of the future imo and Peirson does what Peirson does when he is needed. Honestly, I don't think losing Marnus and Usman will be the worst thing on earth. Usman is past his best in this format and there are better options than Marnus to come back in to the squad. Also, the Qld guys on here that have seen Jack Wood play recently will back him to perform too, can absolutely roost a ball.

The Heat's batting has never been the biggest problem, it's been the bowling attacks. I think they have a pretty decent one to play around with this year, especially if they can squeeze both Swep and Kuhnemann in most matches.
