Just as crazy as Zeebs coming back after a “2 week” hammy with no scratch match

I prefer Cunnington going through a pre-game fitness test for a crook back, barely being able to move during, picking him anyway, failing to get through the game and then missing the next few weeks as an example of pure boneheaded selection insanity.

We normally match up incredibly well against Carlton because we have been able to beat them up around the ball with bigger bodies and stop their run with numbers. Harder this time without Cunnington and Ziebell but we aren't without a hope. Can see Goldstein having a field day, if Simpkin is fit and plays well along with Higgins we are definitely in the game. Immediate history is without doubt a factor. If we kick a few early on which we've barely done all year I think we'll get up.
We'll be fuming about last week and I'd expect we come out as such. If not then just pack it up

Early prognosis

It's pure carnage at Arden St, with no club suffering more on the injury front. Coach Rhyce Shaw said Ziebell reinjuring the hamstring that kept him out for the previous fortnight was "bad luck" rather than mismanagement. Zurhaar was a late withdrawal from Saturday night's game but should be right to return, while Anderson will be close as well. Hayden's status will be guided by how he fares in the concussion protocols after coming off second-best in a collision with Tiger Tom Lynch. Simpkin played out the match after in-game treatment. The likes of Nick Larkey, Luke Davies-Uniacke and Kayne Turner are increasing their output post-injury in scratch games. - Marc McGowan

Wasn't there a rumour Cunners might actually play this week?

I feel like we need to rediscover the intensity we were playing with in the second half of last year. We can’t immediately fix our skill level but we can definitely dial up the heat.

We’re falling behind in games too easily, I think we’ve only led at quarter time once. It seems like we’re just going through the motions a bit early and then playing catch up all day. We need to start hunting teams again.

Why bother with putting that list out? According to that we could have everyone to pick from except Garner OR have up to 14 unavailable for selection.

So that's 8 best 22 on that list missing from our team. Make it 11 if you include Maj, Larkey & LDU...

EDIT: 12 actually, totally forgot about KT.

Perhaps it's been published because it accurately represents the current situation?

And if it wasn't published, there would be a chorus of howls from posters here, bemoaning the fact that the club never provides us with injuries information.

I am not even going to try and predict what the player changes are going to be this week. And I don't care who wears our jumper this week. The one absolutely non-negotiable change this week, better be the letter L changing to the letter W in the win loss column.

It didn't take long for some Carlton numpties to come out of the woodworks proclaiming top eight and finals after their win against the dogs. Thanks to Robbie Gray they were stopped in their tracks a bit, but if we win this week, they will be looking to hide back in those holes they jumped out of two weeks ago. For me, it's always good to see Carlton wallowing and struggling. Those old enough will understand why. Lets hope we continue that misery.

1 injured and 13 "dunnos"?

Sort of. But I interpret "Test" as almost over the injury and available for selection subject to a final assessment. TBC usually means the number of weeks missing has not yet been determined, but the player won't be available this week.

But of course, you knew all that.

What exactly has been diagnosed for Tarryn ? TBC could mean anything, when does Brady do the injury update video ?

It’s likely a “we’ll wait and see how he goes on it once the moon boot’s off, when we’ll know more.”

We all know

Out: Ziebell
In: Cunnington

Zurhaar's ankle will fall off on Thursday morning, Turner will get named and his foot will explode in the pregame warm up, and LDU and Larkey will play another scratch match

Cunnington will play about six minutes before his back gives away and we have to play him in the goalsquare
