Thoughts, everyone?

Grimes is definitely out, and Trengove is looking like he wont be able to play either.

So...
OUTs: Grimes, Trengove.
also possible: Bate, Warnock

INs:
Rivers, anyone know the status of his injury?
Martin surely deserves his spot back. Jamar is going to melt from overwork.

I'd like to think Bate and The Warlock both get a chance to play a few more games.

Hell, Warlock played alright after being at Casey for as long as he has.

Takes time to re adjust to the pace and we did win by 96 points. :thumbsu:

For me i'd say;

Out; Grimes :( and possibly Trengove
In; Martin and maybe Bennel.

Bennel to play half back, allowing Bail to take trenners position.

Martin as ruck backup.

I'd rather Trengove contest and play if I'm honest.

great call

cant believe people are bagging warnock for yesterday's game, i thought he was very good, not too sure about bate but still could get another couple games

also if trengove does get done for that joke of a decision, bennell got 2nd best for casey on the weekend and therefore should come in at half back pushing bail into the middle

Why the fk would you drop them after 1 match when we lose 2 players?

:/

Hopefully Rivers is available to cover some of Grimes.

I would not be surprised to see Michael Evans elevated from the rookie list and straight into calculations for this week. He has been Casey's best midfielder this year. (Daniel Nicholson not far behind him.) He is quick, hard at it. I think we need another player to bring into our on-ball rotation with Grimes and Trenners both out.

It's the perfect opportunity to see what the kid can do.

With Grimes AND Spenccer being confirmed as being out for the rest of the season I hope we elevate the both of them!

Strong post

Out: Grimes, Trengove (if reported)

In: Bennell, MacDonald

but i would prefer nicholson or evans if the fd think they merit a game (over macdonald)

Strauss = injured

Blease = a possibility, i have no doubt the fd would love to get some games into him

JMacdonald will be the in though, i'll almost guarantee it

Got a bad feeling they might bring Morton back in. Hope not.

Don't know enough about Evans or Nicholson, so Rivers (if fit) and Bennell in for me. Stef if Rivers isn't fit. Hmmm, actually North has quite a strong ruck dept, SME might need to be included regardless...

You can almost lock Joel Mac in next weeks side for Grimes. Trengove out means we will be looking at adding another mid for rotations, although Maric pushing through the mid helped on the weekend. Jetta's Casey form warrants the nod ahead of Bennell. I'd be tempted to leave Rivers out just to be cautious with him. Warnock deserves a few games at the top as merely a sign of good faith for sticking with us, and good performance.

Out: Grimes, JT
In: MacDonald, Jetta

We'll have to nominate Campbell

So we finally get our much needed agression injection, and I'm not saying it was just Warnock and Bate but they were big contributors, and you want to take them out again? Warnock definitely did enough for another game, could possibly take one of Petrie/Hansen(if fit), and Bater, although not spectacular, was hard at it and is worthy of another game.

I think if Rivers still isn't right, Joel Mac to come in for Grimesy the poor bugger.
If Trenners is suspended, then Bennell would be next in line after replying well to his omission with a good performance for the Scorps.

How about Jordie Mckenzie, I know he only played in Casey's 2nds but is he a possibility, or does he need to get more match fitness through Casey.

Id only make forced changes, so obviously Grimes and Trengove if he accepts his ban. If Rivers is fit then straight swap for Warnock.

Evans would be first choice to be promoted of the rookie list, however nicholson who has been just as good has been playing across half back i believe for Casey.

Bennell another option to go down to the half back line, or MacDonald who adds some hardness and experience. The good thing is we have options.

Mckenzie would still be really underdone. Needs match fitness..

I agree with saj interms of upgrading rookies, Evans & Nicholson are the first 2 stand outs. Really impressed with Evans.

One of the bigger issues we have this year in my eyes is rushing 2 underdone players back into the seniors.

Morton is now back at casey getting fit while Frawley took till round 7 after coming back into the side in round 2.

I would hope that Jordie gets a game soon but not untill he is 110% ready.

I feel for Cale, I think he will cause some damage but his development is taking longer due to his size, weight and time missed due to injury. We would have a much clearer idea of where he is at if he wouldnt fall apart every pre season.

Same with Grimes, Imagine how he would be if he could play a full season.:(

Wow you guys are harsh. Warnock has consistently been in the best for Casey & had to wait for injury to get his chance & he far from let us down, probably a little overzealous & was a little lucky not to have given away a few extra frees/goals, but is everyone forgetting the fact that Warnock playing on Tippett released Frawley for his best game of the year? I wouldn't have been so happy with Rivers on Tippett & Frawley probably would've gone to him. I'm no huge fan of Warnock, but with all the "give Bate at least another game", why would we drop Warnock?

Forced changes only.

I'm not sold on Martin being back in after not earning his spot back, North play with 1 ruckman & Petrie forward as relief. They will gain Hansen back this week who'll release Petrie to go into the ruck a little more, but they aren't playing 2 guys who are full-time ruckman, so why would we when we just smashed a team in Adelaide who uses forwards as the relief ruckman?

true, it's obviously too much to ask that trengove be let off from his 'offence' but i am hoping against all hope that it is downgraded

It's all about match ups for me. Personally, our backline looked great on the weekend. Really nice balance to it. Might cop some criticism for this, but I really feel Frawley plays better alongside Warnock for some reason. They seem to gel. I wouldn't make a change to our backline. Not sure where Rivers is at, but we can't go in too tall like we did last year against the Kangas in the same game.

Both Grimes and Trengove look like missing. Both were named in the midfield against Adelaide, so we have to find 2 midfielders to replace them. Bennell looks like he found form at Casey and should come in. The other spot really is up for grabs. Blease? Morton? Rookies Evans or Nicholson? I think Blease still needs to put in some solid games in a row at Casey to get picked. Morton got 26 touches on the weekend but chopped the ball. The other 2 are rookies and would need to be elevated. So a tough decision this week for Bailey. But I'd go the following:

OUT
Grimes(f*cking injured)
Trengove(f*cking MRP)

IN
Bennell(probably come in as a sub)
Evans(I know I said we should elevate Nicholson in another thread, but seems a perfect replacement for Trengove if suspended)

Of course if Trengove gets off at the tribunal, I think we should only bring in Bennell for Grimes. Wona to play in the middle or forward flank for a half(then subbed off), then Bennell can get subbed on and play a similar role.

Good post, agree with all of that.

On the weekend I think it was the fact that Warnock is strong enough to take on a genuine key forward, Rivers is always a question mark on a big guy like Tippett. This allowed Frawley to play off his man more & saw him back to his AA form of last year. North will likely have Hansen back & Petrie, Garland to Hansen, Warnock to Petrie & Frawley on the 3rd tall providing our run. Obviously Frawley can go on to either if required, but after the game just gone I'm more confident with this than Rivers on Hansen or Petrie. It's just bad luck for Riv that injury made him miss that game, but don't tamper with a side that wins like that. Warnock won't be in forever & maybe match ups would have him out the following week (fair chance), but not this week for me.

Would be happy for us to play a rookie straight away, why else are we promoting them if they're not ready or form doesn't warrant?
