As long as they still think Lachie Murphy is a AFL level footballer I have no hope for match committee’s judgements on players ability to be selected

Don't know. We're going to lose games regardless so I'd rather see them reward games to those that are going to bring a lot of effort instead of a bunch of guys that are cruising on 'talent'. If the other young players see that effort rewards a spot in the team, that's a good start for mine.

The rot is too deep set for even the best AFL coach to come in and reverse in half a year, and the replacements are too raw.

All I've heard is contest contest contest and yet we are literally the worst at contest. And effort is at historic lows.

He’s absolutely a stop-gap. Do feel for him. On a hiding to nothing, but I’ve seen nothing game plan or match day tactics wise in 5 matches. Early days, with a bad list, but can’t even see the fundamentals.

This may seem bizarre but he is probably relishing it. Just think what happens if he turns this crapfest around.

Yes, to some extent he is in a he can’t lose situation. We got rid of a stack of players, we are rebuilding.

Thats what makes it hard to judge whether a coach is doing a good or not in a poor team. Bolton kept his job for much longer than he should of due to a similar factor. All coaches need to be judged regardless of the list. Often a top coach will also attract trades to get better as well.

I reckon Poholke comes in too, but yep I am extremely disappointed with the lack of midfield changes. I think a change of midfield coach is required too.

Agreed, he also needs some more support in the coaches box. We heard how good he is with building relationships with players which is great, but we need to get a good tactical assistant in who can help with our game plan. At the moment he has a bunch of ex crows players in there and an ex SANFL coach.

They're gonna try "structural" changes again rather than personnel again. Everything to delay the inevitable.

I do and just as uncompetitive.

It comes down to the back end of 2019. The point where we were forfeiting games at half time indicates we went further down the mire then what a coaching change could fix. We weren't a mediocre club bogged down with structures/a coach who lost his pizazz, we were a club that destroyed itself by fostering such a toxic culture, to the point the players just gave up on the place. That doesn't get reversed quickly, no matter who is coach.

I'd give Clarko a good chance to avoid the spoon come 2021. Not 2020 though.
