Just ome thought on changes to be made this weekend for the StKilda match up both team and structure.

In: Duffield, Warren, Murphy
Out: M. Carr, Longmuir, ???

Longmuir is injured and this is the only week where we can really afford to rest him. Give Warren a run and let J'Lo rest. Matty needs a run with EF to get some form back and Duff deserves a run, if not him than Thornton.

As far as structure this in purely my opinion and thoughts so dont shoot me down. Pavlich CHF in a Riewoldt like role just roaming around. McPharlin CHB to Riewoldt and let him run to create like he loves to. Polak and Murphy at FF. Polak looks to have found some form and a little goal kicking form so let him use it and with Murph he is a forward no doubt and has some confidence now so again elt him use his confidence and form.
Duffield/Thornton and McPharlin give the HB line some run and dash.

Thoughts?

OUT: anyone thats injured, we need 22 performers this week + M.Carr

IN: Duffield ???

I don't think we should woory too much about the Saints talls. This is a very big ground where smalls are far more important. Gee i wish Thornton was fit, he's the ideal candidate for negating Riewoldt.

McPharlin going back isnt to cover their talls. For me it is to provde some run from HB and we have Polak who can play forward and Murph definetly deserves a chance after Saturday doesnt he?

I'm not disputing the move of McPHarlin back. I just don't think his hammies are up to it. I'd prefer to see Pavlich back, cause if McPharlin is chasing Riewoldt around i think his hammies will go ping.

But i agree a forward structure containing 2 outta 3 of the following would be better: McPharlin, Polak and Pavlich. I'm not sure how to fit Murphy into the mix also.

Michael Warren??????? U r joking? Played about his 1st good game for Claremont in over a year on the weekend...is very slow & not up to Afl standards IMO. Agree Matty Carr, agree Longmuir....realise that Warren is probably chosen for as a back up ruck, but surely we can get away with perhaps Johnson/Polak combo giving Sandilands a break, as we're only up against Ackland.

OUT: Medhurst, M Carr, Longmuir
IN: Duffield, Murphy, Cook

Medhurst - only played 68 minutes on weekend, did some good things but would then let teammates down with poor decison making & disposal
M Carr - Playing very non team orientated footy at the moment, soft, slow, I would almost think Schofield is a better player the way Matt Carr has been playing in first 4 weeks of season!
Longmuir - Must be injured as has done nothing this season, needs a weeks rest or go back to West Perth for a kick in the pants

Roger Hayden would also not want to play another game like that...he was shocking, that 1st goal to Adelaide he gave up was :D:D:D:De. Played very well v Port when he backed himself & ran off...but that was easily his worst game I've seen him play.

All the talk of McPharlin going back is just that. Talk. The only time we'll see him back is if (when) we're being walloped, and then it will be to stem the tide, and then it will be too late.

In: Peake, Cook, Murphy
Out: Jlo, Headland, M Carr

Headland or Carr to get a last minute reprieve if Hase is not up for it. Or better yet, let them (headland and Carr) think that and bring in Duffield for Hase.

So...
In: Peake, Cook, Duffield, Murphy
Out: Jlo, Hase, Des, MCarr

kudos to medhurst for coming off the lines even after he was reported. Same too in respect to Grovers aggression. Sandi looks like he likes a bit of it too.

Hazelby has as injury. So what if he nearly got bog against the power. Playing someone in the beginning of a season who is carrying somesought of an injury is madness.

Out. Haze, Hayden. M. Carr Parker.
In. Peake, Duff, Cookie, Walker.

Having said that. The ins and outs should also take in Saints injuries (if any) and the prevailing weather conditions.

If it looks like a rain and a mud slog bring some more new blood. Drum and Gilmore for for Medhurst (resting) and Belly (resting).

Haze, Hayden, Carr, Parker, Medhurst and Belly awapping with Peake, Duff Cookie, Walker, Drum and Gilmore I dont believe we lose alot on away game strenght but it certainly gives us some quality fresh talent for the Derby.

Anyone that thinks Des should be dropped is very very narrow minded. His early season form has been pretty good and once again it is a case of people rating him on his potential not his ability.

What drugs are on. Drop Bell and Haselby for Drum and Gilmore, l guess you would be the nutter who 1 week loves the club and the coach and the next spit at them both. Two AA's out now you in another world. I guess you would like to see Riewoldt and Dalsanto dropped as well. Why dont you want to drop Pavlich?

You missed the text as well as the context.

I will type real slow for you. read it slowley. Hazelby is injured he should not be playing until he is not injured anymore.

Belly gets caught tooo often. If the weather in Tassie this week is going to a hard slog have look at the bookies markets. Give a few healthy young bucks a run. Plan for as many fresh players as we can for the Derby.

I'm not your missus so no need to insult me.

Out: Hasleby and Longmuir Injured, I have jumped onto the give Headland the boot bandwagon as his disposal was complete carp and that turnover when he should've been kicking at goal was a disgrace, and Medhurst...a goalkicker who refuses to kick goals...
In: Peake, Duff-man, Murphy Cook

OUT-m carr,headland,hayden
IN_duffield, peake,cook
M carr, headland made too many poor choices, medhurst was good,he only made two errors but at least he was trying to move it quickly forward, deserves more time.hayden needs more time, will be good but cant decide him or cook.no where for murphy to play.

I disagree with Hayden being dropped, one bad game after the brilliant game he played vs Power does not warrant it! Otherwise I agree with the rest! :)

The reason for Hayden is more for another midfield player more than form, against better opposition and being out so long it might take time for him(hope not to long)to cope with the pace.his run off the backline would be good

why not try Hayden in the midfield. He's just about the quickest player on the list. and his disposal is usually superb.

Probably not enough match fitness but with haze out i would put him in and move schammer up the ground a bit.also with my selection headland and carr out and now haze we would lack long kicking midfielders.

Done his abductor muscle (groin/inner thigh)

I think it's called an adductor

Whatever it's called, it still 'abducts' him out of our line up... :o but seriously, this is a real worry for us, if hase (one of our most important players) carries this injury through the season, we're in real strife. In the preseason, Walker was a handy runner through the midfield, I wonder if they can recall him from exile and he can show the match committee what he's made of? Personally i'd prefer Peake, but at least this year we have more options to cover injuries.
