You jest but at least Thompson would put a block on for Sloane. Brad Crouch was the only one barely able to achieve that tonight. And he struggled.
It infuriated me no end seeing brouch contesting the ball only to be taken out by a third man with our players all sitting back watching. Not helping, or chasing, but watching.

Please post video of a kick or handball that hit a target. He had 11 touches. In my opinion all of them were either clear errors or placed teammates under unnecessary pressure. Maybe I missed one.

Absolutely he had some nice touches, trouble is he had a number of shockers as well, also didn't play the last quarter or so due to a groin injury.

Vader, the odds of Mackay being dropped this week??
Not sure how you can single him out, given that we probably had 19 other passengers tonight.

Mackay gave us nothing, but neither did a whole host of other players. None of our run & carry players did anything tonight, because our inside midfielders are completely and utterly useless if Sloane is tagged out of the game.

His kick to Jenkins in the third was spot on. But it was Jenkins and contact was involved in the marking contest, so he folded like a house of cards.

Also a nice duck and baulk and 25m handball on the back flank in the 2nd. There was a few other nice touches early and a couple of great tackles. But sadly looked very much down on confidence with a lot of his disposal.

Agree with the calls to drop a few players and send a loud and clear message. Mackay just cannot hold his spot. Brad Crouch is not right, went into the rooms with the Doc - get him right. Charlie also needs a rest. Hampton? Needs to make a decision if he wants to play AFL. Squandering his opportunity ATM. does Sauce need a rest?

You mean someone to replace all the dash and run that he doesn't actually provide?

Honestly I'd replace him with Gallucci at this point. There is literally no way that the team gets worse by doing this, even if Gallucci bombs and has, oh I don't know, 12 AWFUL POSSESSIONS AND MISSES A BUNCH OF TACKLES AND GETS RAG DOLLED REPEATEDLY.

I would put Wigg on the wing

I don't care if he's kicking clangers like he did in the JLT because at least he can actually get the ****ing ball which would be an immediate improvement on MacKay.

Honestly if MacKay is not replaced with either Wigg or Seedsman this year then there's something clearly wrong with the selection committee.

Sauce need to start tapping to players other than Sloane.

Ridiculously predictable and basically ruins any chance of a centre clearance if Sloane being tagged.

- Zero forwards who are any good overhead in this team, bar Betts and it clearly shouldn't be his job. McGovern isn't available so in comes BEECH.

- Since Sloane has been tagged out the rest of the mids have either accumulated crap possessions or not touched it at all...let's bring in a guy who seems in the SANFL to actually run both ways, tackle, yet get inside ball and not panic with it...in comes GREENWOOD

- Backline is pathetically slow, unimaginative, poorly skilled...it's a big risk but I'm sensing a now or never moment for a guy who, while his disposal has been questioned, certainly at this aims to do more than crab kicks and handballs. Yeah, it's nice to defend but the balance is awful atm...in comes WIGG

- LEVER obviously comes back in. Otten is a depth player at either end and I'd drop him but let both Hartigan and Jenkins know they've cashed in their last brownie point and are back to zero...one more pathetic effort and they are gone the next week.

- Finally the lack of defensive running, intensity at the contest and general passion and giving a toss was missing...I'd be bringing in KNIGHT who actually tries, gives a crap and seems passionate.

From there a couple positional changes. Hampton doesn't have enough production as a full time mid but his tackling and skills in space are good...give him more forward time. Also, Walker is playing very 'pick and choose' footy atm and getting closed down too easily. Get him to use his tank and skills around the ground and give him Lynch's role with Beech playing deeper.

IN: Lever, Greenwood, Knight, Beech, Wigg
OUT: Mackay, Menzel, Otten, Kelly, Lynch (a big name must pay and he was putrid...prob selectors can shoulder some blame also)
LAST CHANCE: Jenkins, B Crouch, Hartigan
?: If Cameron not fit, he goes and Menzel gets one more week.

LINE UP:

Betts, Beech, Jenkins
Hampton, Walker, Cameron
Atkins, Sloane, Milera
Smith, Hartigan, Laird
Brown, Talia, Lever
Jacobs, Greenwood, MC

BC, Douglas, Wigg, Knight

Surely we must bring Greenwood in next week. Our MF balance is way off atm. I can't believe I'm about to say this but I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Thommo back either after that utter crap that was served up tonight. I know he's slow and has no 2 way running but we are getting killed at the contest right now. No good having so many outside runners if we can't get it out to them.
Out; MacKay Milera Otten
In; Lever Greenwood Thommo

Whatever we do - Greenwood has to come in at a bare minimum. He's a big bodied mid that we need to give a crack. No, he probably won't dominate but we need to see what he's made of as we are missing the attributes he has in our midfield.

Give Gallucci a run too if Knight isn't quite right who I wouldn't rush back in as he is quite injury prone. But Hass does have NFI so he'll probably clear him to play only to tear his hammy off the bone:rolleyes:.

I'd go - in: Lever/Greenwood/Gallucci; out - Mackay/Otten/Hampton

My irrational, isn't going to happen, thoughts:
Out: Menzel(groin), Mackay, Otten, Lynch
In: Beech, Greenwood, Lever, Knight

Hampton lucky, plays mainly forward/wing though, isn't offering enough as a mid. Greenwood takes his place.

Jenkins also very lucky, is a toss up between he and Otten.Infact I'm almost leaning the other way... would make a genuine statement.

Lever, Knight, Greenwood, Beech, Wigg, ROB all need to come in.

swing the ****ing axe, time to amputate the leg.

Rather than doing in/out, here is a list of who should be in the crosshairs based on the past week or two:
- Jenkins
- Kelly
- Mackay
- Brouch
- Menzel
- Hartigan
- Tex
- Sloane
- Cameron
- Atkins
- Lynch
- Hampton
- Otten

Guys who have just scraped through:
- Douglas
- Betts
- Mrouch
- Milera
- Talia
- Brown

Guys who have been ok:
- Smith
- Sauce
- Laird

Way too many sitting in the cusp of selection.

At least Pyke seemed PO'd (as much as he can be) in the presser. Sounds like they may get a flogging on the track this week, which is the least the deserve with that effort.
He can seem as pissed off as he wants to be proof will come this Thursday night.

It infuriated me no end seeing brouch contesting the ball only to be taken out by a third man with our players all sitting back watching. Not helping, or chasing, but watching.

It's clear we've learnt nothing since last year. Our midfield mix is lopsided and overly focused around specific player(s), mostly Sloane. Brad and Matt Crouch do their bit but they're still young and lack the overall strength and hardness that only comes from years of midfield experience.

We like to joke about Dangerwood and Geelong. But at least they've got two players. We appear to have one at present.

Alright. Here's what I'd do if I was in charge at the AFC this week.

Out: Mackay. Delisted effective immediately. Keys revoked. Pay out his contract. Gone
Out: Any coach who rates Mackay. Clearly not up to it. Gone. Fired. Replaced by our SANFL coaches and perhaps Bec Goddard.
Out: Brad Crouch to the SANFL for five weeks. Has to outperform his replacement and work ****ing hard
Out: Lynch. Come back when you can field kick.
Out: Otten. Back-up only. Not to return unless there's an injury to a defender or Jenkins
Out: Cameron. Not to play SANFL either. Two weeks rest, minimum, to right his injury. Then back to the midfield.

Roast: Hampton. Last chance or you're out
Roast: Walker. Play like a captain or we'll give it to someone who deserves it
Roast: Jenkins. Harden the **** up you concrete-deprived overpaid shit. You're an AFL forward not a basketballer or an NFL commentator.

Back In:
Menzel. Don't rush your disposal. Use your skill. Four more weeks. If you're not up to it, bye bye
Back In: Milera. Keep it up.

In: Greenwood. How this guy didn't play this week is beyond me. Hungry, two way runner, big boddied mid, gunning it in the SANFL. Automatic inclusion and backed in while Brad Crouch has his lengthy SANFL spell.
In: Knight. Permanent Mackay replacement but actually has skills. Backed in for the season.
In: Lever. Bloody obvious. Can't play Otten and Lever. Lever is far better. And re-sign him too.
In: Beech. You're in while Lynch learns a hard lesson about being an AFL player
In: One of Gallucci, Poholke or Wigg. Well done lads, show us what you're made of.

Coach: Support Sloane you lazy disrespectful ****s. He carries the midfield, show some heart and protect him while he's getting tagged.
Coach: Support your fellow midfielders during ground ball gets. Don't just ball watch during a tackle, structure up and block opposition receivers.
Coach: If we've just conceded four goals in a row, put some spare men back. If we've conceded eight, put our entire forward line back.
Coach: If the opposition has three spares in defence, man at least a few of them up. We kick a lot, no use kicking to an outnumber every single time
Coach: Skills, skills and more ****ing skills.
Coach: Jacobs, if you're dominating the ruck, bash the ball forward to ease congestion at stoppages.
Coach: Effort an intensity. Seriously. Not good enough

Fine: Any player who stands idle while Sloane gets bashed off the ball is fined $10,000 for failing to comply with team standards
Fine: Any player who jogs defensively as the opposition runs through the middle into goal is docked their match payment.
Fine: Any player with more than 75 games who has five touches or less at half time is fined $25,000 for failing to arrive at the ground on time

Captaincy: If Walker doesn't show leadership for the third week in a row, captaincy is temporarily granted to Jake Lever, who actually shows heart and determination on the football field at all times.
