It felt like Lynch took a mark in every single contest that Cordy was involved in. Like you said, we may as well had Caleb on him as the end result would've been the same and at least other areas of the game could be impacted. At the same time, not a great recipe for success so hopefully Khamis will offer some sort of resistance as an aeriel presence.

To be fair, one of those when Riewoldt took him out so Lynch could mark uncontested. Blatant block off the ball which no umpire seen, even though other totally unclear decisions were seen 40m away

Cordy is a third tall IMO. Think he would play his best in intercepting mark, roll off your man role. Unfortunately for him we are short on KPD and have depth in the role that suits him best. To top it off for him we have the depth with big guys forward now too. Remember his U18’s clips he was a great mark in the Wood mould.

I will be filthy if we don’t play 2 talls at the back. Mackay is in good form and we don’t need to let Casboult get back some marking form. Key forwards marking the ball gives the whole team a lift. We have tried this crap against Carlton before a couple of years ago and got caught out. Surely the MC have learnt from that?

Levi is odds-on for the Majak Award this week.

JJ at his best would be a top 5-10 player for us no matter where he is on the ground. With enough support and the boost his 150th game could give him he might find some of his groove again, which would be massive for our prospects for the rest of the season.

At least that might be what the MC are thinking. I'm not sure I agree but I can see why it's worth the risk of playing him.

JJ would be in the bottom 5 players on our list, he's been carried for the last 5 years and has done nothing yet keeps getting a game, time for the club to bite the bullet and drop him till he shows at least a bit of form in the reserves like all of the other players have been forced to do.

How does the MC justify JJ keeping his spot? Was absolute rubbish last week and we have at least 4 better options for the half-forward mid role playing in the VFL.
Maybe they have acknowledged he’s only half the player at HFF that he is in defence and they’ve committed to play him in his best position this week?

If not, I agree there are others putting up their hand.

Really if we are going finish top 4 we should winning this one pretty easy. Especially coming off a lost we should come out fired up.

“At his best”

Carlton are cr@p if we are being honest

IF we are any good, we win and do it fairly easily

"Other than McKay".
McKay has had 10+ shots on goal in each of his last two games at Marvel and kicked 7 and 6 goals respectively.
Expecting 5 goals minimum from him.
Hopefully Silvagni will be back as well.
Expecting this wont make a scrap of difference, we will win

If English doesnt get up then Schache is in based off Bevo's comments. He wouldnt go too top heavy with the 2 rucks. Bevo also alluded to Lewy young maybe coming in as well. I really like the way some of our younger guys are developing in Butler and Garcia. Looking forward to them both getting a crack very soon
Sammy Power's is ones of the stars at our club. The doggies have great depth and are in our enviable position with his 3rd and 4th round selections that is blowing me away.

I actually think that can work. Wood, Khamis and Crozier all strong in the air and good intercept defenders and Williams is also solid.Bailey Dale has also been surprisingly good in the air. For a zone defence this would be preferable. Probably my preferred set up now as I do not rate Cords, Gards and unfortunately Young to be competitive in finals against strong forwards
Nothing surprises me about Dale he has always been a good mark, I think backline keeps him focused he has always had the talent

Personally I think if English is out then we need to pick Sweet and play 2 rucks. We need to ensure that our midfield has the best chance possible of dominating and that we have a decent ruck chop out if the opposition get on top.

Anyway we shall see what happens. Sounds like Bev will give Schache another chance.
No Martin and Sweet will not work together as neither has a good enough other string to their bow

I really hope Bevo has a rethink on the Ruck situation. Even against Richmond, had Sweet been in instead of Shache, the times when Martin and Nankervis were rucking Sweet would have controlled the Ruck against a small leaping Pickett and helped wear Nankervis down. Given that half way thru the last we were within a kick, it alone may have been sufficient to win that game.
We might have been further down if we had two ruckman

I will be filthy if we do
