Mayes is no lesser a footballer than Kamdyn McIntosh and Richmond play that bloke every week. Plus Sam Mayes' name isn't Kamdyn, which automatically makes him preferable in comparison.

Good point. But I think Drew is no lesser a footballer than Mayes. I just dont think Port gained anything playerwise by having Mayes in instead of Drew.

And then I think what others have quoted, successful coaches like Alistair Clarkson give the apprentice a good stint in the side to get experience.

With no Butters, Duursma for a few weeks and the possibilty no Houston either I think there is plenty of room for Drew and Mayes in our 22.
