And here's Freo's team. Keep in mind that Freo always puts in a late change.

Sydney: Ablett OUT
Geelong: Ablett IN

What's going on here?!

Pav played half of last weeks match on the ball so if he's carrying an injury he's not showing it. Goodes is worth the risk when a top 4 position is at stake.

I'm happy that Ablett is out. Finally! He has been playing poorly and definitely not in the best 22 with that kind of form. But I agree with Mase, I didn't really expect it to happen either.

I thought Brabazon deserved another game but oh well.

I think Brabazon getting a game was due to injuries, and the club wishing to see how his ability would translate to AFL footy.

The club would have wanted to see what he was capable of, to see whether he is worth persisting with in 2009. From what I saw, I believe he is.

I would rather it if Goodes got a extra week off. I find it hard to believe that Goodes would only take 2 weeks to recover from the injury which made him completely useless on the field.
Totally agree. Also noticed Roos talking up chances of early return of Micky O. Think they're desperate to get the gun players back at well below 100%.
Hope Goodes has a blinder though!

I thought Brabazon deserved his spot ahead of Grundy. Harsh call dropping the kid when he got 14 touches in his first game. :thumbsd:

I think the change is probably more to do with team structure than which player is more deserving. Grundy will probably stay in the team until Playfair comes back.

I'm happy that we'v dropped ablett and I think he's pretty relieved as well. With confidence shot, he should be able to get some confidence back in the reserves and hopefully be back sooner than later, because i believe he is in their best 22 when up and going.

Fair enough, I thought he showed real promise and had a go. He would have benefited playing on this week. I just hope Grundy steps up to warrant his selection, b/c I hate seeing players in there when others have given more.

In: Goodes,Moore,Barry

Out: Ablett,Brabazon,White

I'm suprised that Goodes is back in so quickly. Hope they're not taking a risk with him, would rather have him firing for the Cats and Pies. Did we ever find out the nature of his injury?

No suprise about Brazabon and White. Brazabon was serviceable and showed he has a future, but he'll get his chance next year. Ablett was a bit suprising, considering how long Roos has persevered with him this year. Not a good sign for him, with so many young guys on the cusp.

Congrats to Crouch for holding his spot. I was ready to write him off before last week, but he proved he's still got some pace in those stumpy little legs. His rebound and hard running through the middle was really important for us last week, especially in the (continued) absence of Malceski.

I agree.

I've been watching the way he runs and I'm fairly confident he has syphilis.
