Makes no such assumptions at all.

Yes it does, and it's a frequent trick of yours.

Using the existence of a selection to justify a selection is the type of circular reasoning that doesn't hold weight.

Still when Reilly finishes his career he'll be around 220 games .....for those who say stats is the manner in determining whether he's been good or indifferent ...guess the #of total games says he hasn't been as bad as his detractors have us believe

Over the journey He has been a average player in an average side with a list that has lacked depth that has been managed with a golf pass selection policy

Again my point was that my assessment of Radar is a C grade AFL player, nothing more and nothing less

Ps. Would give grigg a full game in sanfl rather than making sub.

How about making danger the sub to partly rest him up? Doubt afc would do it so perhaps red vest.

Other way round.

If we have the game in the bag at half time, make the sub then.

It's no spin...... Sando said this week that playing Laird forward was a key pre-game strategy and it paid dividends and Laird gave the side great flexibility to play week to week either as a small defender or a small forward

This is significantly different to an experienced player like Radar who gets weeks, no I'm sorry seasons to nail a role and when he does not we have traditionally shifted the problem elsewhere, from HF, midfield, Tagger and more recently HB
I accept that you're just regurgitating the spin that Sando put on the move, but spin is still spin, no matter what the source.

Garbage. He also finished top-10 in our B&F in 2010 & 2011 - years in which you (and his other detractors) would have us believe he was performing badly.

And years in which we had a multitude of elite performances. Let's not put anything in context.

The gist of my argument is that the Reilly bashing is extremely over done and boring. It creeps into every thread by the same people. It is analysed and discussed way more than the players that are really affecting our teams form. Anytime discussion comes up about how Danger doesn't get the football enough or is playing poorly it is deflected to his team mates not looking out for him.

Probably because they aren't. Look at the good teams, whose star players cop hard tags every week, and you see them working hard to set blocks for said star player, and roughing up the tagger to take them off their game. This was perfectly evident against Geelong, when their players would lay a hit on whoever we sent to Selwood, whilst Guthrie was allowed to do whatever the hell he wanted by both the umpires, and our other players.

Hoping also to see M Crouch get another full game and see how he goes in agame where 'weight for age' wise he should go wqell..

Hopefully another RS nomination too!

Since you are using B&F finishes in shit years, how did he figure in the B&F for the rest of his career?

Yeh because the argument hasn't been raised before that we've allowed average players to build long comfortable careers at Adelaide.

Trigg has been CEO for over 10 years, he musnt be as bad as the detractors make out.

You can take your spin on the move, I'll take mine. Either way, I'm expecting both Reilly & Laird to play on Sunday, with Grigg missing out.

Gotta love your spin though.. Laird's move is because he offers versatility, yet when players like VB & Reilly get moved around it's because they're not good enough to hold their old position. In all 3 cases it's because Sando wants to achieve a certain team structure and these players get given different jobs because that's the best way of fitting them into Sando's jigsaw.
There is a monumental difference between Reilly and Laird though, a difference of a decade in age. Reilly has had a career full of moves between positions, he has a history of it, Laird does not. I think that given that Laird has had even less of a preseason than Reilly this year it's only to be expected that he wouldn't be put in a position of greater responsibility than Reilly, but last year both were playing in Defense, neither were coming back from injury and of the two only Reilly was dropped whilst Laird excelled. That should be a much better indication of where both players are currently at than the positions they played last week.

So Danger is given leeway to perform well below his best because he's carrying an injury, but Reilly is given none, despite being 2 games into a return from injury which kept him out of the game for almost a year and ensured that he didn't play a single game during the pre-season? Talk about double standards.

Well of course there's different standards

How could you think there wouldn't or shouldn't be? One's barely rank n file the other is star

Come on, nobody is going to finish in the top-10 at the club's B&F if they weren't performing to a standard that the coaches weren't happy with. That's just disingenuous rubbish.

There is no doubt that his performances in 2013 were sub-standard. His performances thus far in 2014 haven't been to his usual standard either. However, anyone trying to argue that his performances prior to 2013 were unacceptable is spouting crap.

Pretty sure that is what people are saying

So Grigg has been dropped and Lynch replaces Martin in the 22.

We have a long way to go before we win another final. Way to go crows.

I think that's the lineup most of us expected to see, the sub at our club seems to be last player in one week, first out the next. Will be interesting to see who gets selected as sub on Sunday.
