I understand your doubts but Eddy and Howard are two completely different propositions. Howard has a real future and can play multiple positions. Eddy is a backup plan in case of injury.
Howard has been named emergency a few times as is. He is close.

I see Howard as a better long term option than Eddy as well, but by not picking either of them we're costing ourselves a chance at a flag. It's an even year and we're letting a top 4 spot slip away because the coaches can't let go of this issue.
If Howard isn't ready, as soon as it became clear that Trengove wasn't working up forward (about 8 weeks ago), Eddy needed to come in and stay in.
It's a nightmare.
