Coney Island Warriors 21.7 (133) defeated Mount Buller Demons 18.8 (116)​

After wins against the Plasticinies & the OOFs, we were back at home to face the Mount Buller Demons. The Deez had fallen on tough times this season, which had not only made them the strongest team in the SFA (due to holding up the rest of the league ladder) but also earned them a comparison with the Bluth family from Arrested Development. Richly deserved, I have to admit.

The week revolved around attempted poaching, sealed lead batteries, people playing for the other side, and Tarks. Always Tarks. It was fun though, with 18 of us getting amongst it which is the highest involvement since rounds 7 & 8. Then when the qooty came, we gathered round to watch the opposition kick 5 opening quarter goals to 3 (and 10 scoring shots to 4) to threaten the classic simhousing plot of the underdog giving us the business. The pendulum swung back towards us in the second, and by half time we were up by two points. It was a similar story for most of the second half - the lead changed four times in the third quarter and twice more in the fourth with the Deez up by 4 points with seven odd minutes remaining. But like last week we found an extra gear in red time, kicking four goals to one to salute the judges at the end of the game to the tune of 17 points.

Even though we won, we didn't move up or down on the ladder such is the even nature of this season. We remained a game off top spot, but more importantly we were two games ahead of 9th place.

Season 32 Mobbs Medallist TheInjuryFactory had a day out, with his 25 disposal/5 mark/3 tackle/4 goal effort his best return to date for season 35. Another to dominate was pantskyle whose 6V4Ah sealed lead battery was running at full capacity with a 27 disposal/19 hitout/5 tackle/1 goal game. Others to impress were spudmaster (22 disposals/3 marks/2 tackles/1 goal), Dinsdale (25 disposals/5 tackles/1 goal) and yer man with a 6 tackle/6 free for game.

The goals were shared around which indicates a potent forward line. toxic joined TIF by kicking 4 goals while Purple7x08_24 (3), Piggy Smalls (3) and FootyGuy13 (2) also kicking multiple majors.
