We knew about it before Christmas so old news. What was interesting was reference to "outside footy" for his career yet I've read he's potentially coaching in NEAFL so not sure what that is telling us about him and the Club.

Only that if a new reserves coach is not yet in place it is not ideal for the younger guys, particularly the rookies, with the season just a few weeks away.

To be honest, I reckon the welfare guy is probably a greater need at this point in time. We've got a really young list and, presumably, lots of guys needing to work with someone to sort their lives out and make some decisions around education/training/work etc. I assume that's all falling on Lynch's shoulders at the moment.

With no reserves footy for a couple of months, the additional development load of the reserves coach is probably quite easily shared among the rest of the coaching staff. Not completely ideal, I guess, but I don't think it would be much of a problem to overcome.

Yeah, well Clarke announced his intentions quite a while ago. It takes time to find the right replacement I guess.

We still have development coaches there to work with the young fellas in the meantime.
