Mate, whatever drugs you took to make you think that Elliott is on anywhere close to $750k, I’ll take some. If Brisbane were offering that kind of coin to him we’d have let him walk and taken the band 1 compo.

If you honestly think we’re paying 33 players only around an average of $175k, there’s something wrong.
The simple logic is that your numbers are completely off, and you should stop making guesses about Collingwood player salaries and disguising them as fact.

Even the 175k figure is somewhat possible.
Looking at our best 22 last week, all of Daicos, Madgen, Noble, T Brown, C Brown, Varcoe, Greenwood, IQ would be around that mark this year or on minimum wage. Then we have a bunch of genuine rookies not in best 22.
It's just the structure of our list, we have a large number of players in top 10% salary, but we also have equally if not more players in the bottom 10%. It kinda exemplifies the nature and problems of our list. The top 10 is excellent, they pull their weight, but once a few of them get injured, everyone else is mediocre or garbage

So if Cameron leaves, who is the favourite to get him? Geelong? Presumably they wouldn't throw massive money at him? If not Geelong, would it be Brisbane?

Why would he bother moving interstate when he is already on 1 million+ at the giants.
Maybe because he was already leaning towards leaving and his salary has now gone towards paying the likes of Toby Green, Coniglio and Whitfield?

After the season he's had, 1 million per season is generous. But maybe it's not exclusively about the cash and he knows he'll be well-paid anywhere he goes.

he is only a year removed from a coleman medal campaign.
He either re-ups with GWS for big dollars lots of years or ends up at geelong and collingwood for lots of dollars over many years

I'd say 5 million over 5 years is overpaying. He was amazing in 2019 but he didn't set the world on fire in 2017-18. So one big year out of four. Who's offering him more than 5 million over 5 years?
