Rumours circulating that Darren Jolly's knee cannot be fixed,so he may retire.

Sheezz we need to get another strong bodied ,experienced ruckman asap.

I doubt Wood can handle the ruck duties all by himself and what if he gets injured need a good backup.

Interesting..

Personally i think the more Wood plays the more he will improve.

Get Witts in the weight room and get him ready asap!

Panic button may be hit, I'd go after Jonathon Griffin.. Showed he can play very good football and is mobility around the ground was fantastic.

Shouldn't cost much either..

Problem with that is, griffen i believe has alraedy decided on Port Adelaide.

agreed, hasn't put pen to paper..

depends what griffen wants out of his afl career..

to play in his home state or to play in a succesful team..

because if he is going to port, those two things won't coincide.

Wood is ready anyway.

Woods last month of football was better than Jolly's. We're going to have to rol the dice at some stage. Wood is 24 and we have Ceglar, Witts and Keefe coming through.

Who knows, could be a blessing in a horrible disguise.

Meh, he was f@#$% useless all year anyway and was terrible in the Grand Final for the fact that he gave them constant free clearances from the middle.

Wouldn't give a flying if he left..... Would just open up the salary cap for us and give Witts or Ceglar the chance to shine :):thumbsu:

Hamish Macintosh is too injury prone that's why he is not Norfs first ruck.

Maybe someone like Trent West or Simpson from Geelong ,Mark Blake ?

West or Simpson yes, but don't you dare mention the third bloke's name. Even Wood could destroy him in the ruck.

Could be a blessing in disguise if true.

He is probably on about $400k for this year and next, would free up a lot of salary cap.

Wood is ready to take over if needed, we have Witts and Ceglar in the wings.

If we need 1 more mature age ruck to be back up, I think Will Minson could come cheap and play a L.Brown type role.

Problem with Witts and Ceglar is their both too young and underdeveloped.we can't just rely on Wood he may play terrible or get injured we desperately need a strong bodied fit ruckamn who can play and give witts and Ceglar another year or two to develop.

Suicide if we put these kids in next year.Remember what they did to Josh Fraser, killed him in the ruck from very early and destroyed his confidence.

Witts will be a beauty but too young yet.

We need a reaonsably experience ruckman now!

I don't believe it, I mean I literally think this is bullshit.

Josh Fraser had a similar knee injury back in 2010 to the one Jolly has know, yet he is still rolling around for the Suns, so I can't see why Jolly would retire unless his injury is ever worse then rumoured.

If he is going to retire, you would think he would announce it tonight so that the club can makes plans to replace him during trade week.

I hope it's not true, we do not have another AFL class ruck on our list, Cam Wood is a backup, think Will Minson, think Ivan Maric, think Mark Seaby and you have a good understanding of how good Wood is, and will ever be.

Wood can not carry us to a premiership, CAN NOT, so we need to ensure Jolly can play on, or we may be ****ed already barring a trade miracle.:(

Hopefully we somehow snag Clarke from Brisbane under everyone's noses if true. He showed he's more then capable of no1 ruck duties. Can also go forward. All comes down to jolly though. If he's in for another year like this one then I think its time to hang up the boots

The reason why we made the GFs this and last year were becuase we got some strong bodied players in Ball and Jolly. If Jolly retires, I dont think we can win the flag next year unless we trade for a ruckman but with our first pick of the draft gone we will find it tought striking a deal. Maybe Toovey to Freo for Griffin in some sort of a deal.

Jolly had nothing to do with us making a GF this year and he had even less to do with us being a quarter away from the Flag.
No need to panic.

Well Bucks will have to play two ruckman. Wood and another. May not have a choice. I reckon that other sides will make us sweat more than any other year and we'll have to pay over the market value in trades to get a mature worthwhile ruckman.

Oh well it's back to reading the opposition rucks for our mids.....
