Sad to see how his career ended, would have liked to see him get a better run at it as captain.

Shuey was capable of incredible things, could turn on a dime and shake a defender in such close quarters. Had strength, a little bulldozer with great power through the legs. First 10 metres he'd drive through people, turn in such a tight turn that others would fall over trying to chase him or attempt a weak arm tackle, or would give off a good hanball.

Defensively, the image of Shuey that comes to mind is the smother. Nailed the smothers with ease, closing speed and desperation. This sort of pressure is what helped players like Gov and Barrass be such a force by forcing incoming kicks high to avoid this pressure.

Shuey was a master at tackling, in the sense he always knew where his body was and how the tackle would affect the other person, could always see when they were trying to draw a free kick and would adjust the tackle on the fly.

Dual sided, capable of laser kicks (not always a good thing later in his career though) and dangerous around goal. Probably could have looked towards goals slightly more but he was always trying to hit up a forward.

Will be missed, right decision I guess, would like to see him working with Hewitt, Ginbey and whoever we draft this year.
