The Furies put a real dent in the Bombers finals plans with this upset 25 point win in Round 11. Equus was solid for the Furies accumulating 3 hitouts, 15 touches and a couple of goals, the Bombers current Mobb medal contender EFL_Boy was also fairly solid picking up 10 touches and a couple of goals.

The Roys season might be close to being over but they were still determined to affect the final four with a win over the Demons here. Itsmyshow and cooney both need to poll in this game to remain with a realistic chance of winning the medal, Itsmyshow starred for the Roys with a classy 21 disposals and 8 marks whilst cooney struggled with just 6 hit outs and 10 possessions.

The dragons finals hopes were dealt a cruel blow when they meekly gave up their lead at the final change to go down by 13 points to the Gumbies. Ljp86 was quiet in the loss picking up 12 disposals whilst RoaringUniLions fought bravely picking up 23 disposals and a goal. RojoJunior had a solid day picking up 14 disposals and 9 marks.

In what would turn out to be a grand final preview the Hawks raced to an early lead against the Wonders before taking the foot off the accelerator and cruising to a 25 point lead. Wonders ruckmen Shallow had the better of his opponent, current medal leader, Larrikan whilst Boncer34 showed some form picking up 28 touches and a couple of goals. Wally was kept fairly quiet whilst ClarkeM picked up 22 disposals

The Second place Dragons hosted the Fourth place Demons knowing that a win would nearly cement their spot in the 4 whilst a loss would put them back in the pack and into a dog fight for finals spots however for the first three quarters they played like a team that was sitting on the foot of the ladder. After some passionate words from their captain they sparked up for the last but fell agonisingly short losing by a solitary point. LJP86 was again held quiet with only 18 disposals but he did take 8 marks, it’s starting to show he is the real barometer of the Dragons. He plays well and they win, he plays average and they struggle.

The Furies finals chances were well and truly over by now but they were still determined to have an impact on the shape of the four. However they never really threatened the Gumbies and whilst they did win the last quarter the Furies went down by 10 points ensuring the Gumbies remained well and truly in the race for the finals. Equus was soundly beaten in the ruck by StFly before being moved around while Rojo Junior played well for the Gumbies picking up 18 touches and a goal.

The Roys knew if they could upset the Hawks then they would keep touch with the 4 but if they lost then they would be all but out of the race. The Hawks on the other hand had already secured the minor premiership and were treating each game as a practice finals match and as they had all season they matched the Roys every step of the way eventually cruising to an 18 point victory. ItsMyShow had a stinker picking up only 2 possessions whilst Boncer continued his return to form with 31 disposals, Larrikan also played well with 14 hitouts, 18 disposals and a goal.

Yet another finals shaping clash took place when the Wonders hosted the Bombers, a win and the Bombers wouldn’t be dead just yet whilst a loss would be fatal. With the Dragons losing a win to the Wonders would see them enter second while again a loss would have them fall into the pack. Shallow was kept incredibly quiet picking up only the 8 disposals.

The Demons were still pushing for their first finals appearance in recent memory when they hosted the last placed Furies in their Round 13 clash and for three quarters the match followed the expected script. The Furies however didn’t read the script for the last and they mounted a spirited comeback which ended with them falling just short, the Demons running out 3 point winners.
Equus was beaten in the ruck by cooney but still managed to pick up 13 hitouts and 16 possesions.

The Bombers knew that if they wanted to play finals they HAD to walk away with a win from their trip to the Gumbies and for the first half they were in complete control. The Gumbies hit back in the 3rd but even their most loyal fans were convinced their inaccuracy would come back to hurt them, however in the end the Gumbies were just accurate enough winning by just 3 points despite having an astonishing 8 more scoring chances then their opponents. EFL_Boy was quiet picking up 8 touches and a goal.

If The Roys were to have any chance of making a stunning finals appearance they had to beat the Wonders in Round 13, however they were never in the race. The Wonders were 6 goals up at half time and were never really challenged, winning by a convincing 33 points to signify they were the real deal in Season 12. Shallow was productive picking up 11 hitouts and 18 possessions whilst ItsMyShow was quiet scoring only 13 touches.

The Dragons were facing what had become mission impossible when they travelled to Waverly to meet the premiership favourites, The East Side Hawks. For three quarters the Dragons pushed the Hawks before they fell away in the last leaving them in real danger of missing the finals despite only a round ago sitting securely in second spot. LJ played well picking up 22 disposals, RoaringUniLions was also in fine form picking up 25 disposals and a goal. Boncer was average for the Hawks only picking up 18 touches whilst Wally had few possessions but was fierce around the packs picking up 12 tackles. Larrikan was ok picking up 13 hitouts and 20 disposals.

Now he’s managed to win the Mobbenfuhrer medal for best player of the season, has there been a more accomplished season? It’s very unlikely. Boncer slowly approaches the stage, probably to point out the bleeding obvious.*
