Is this not the most pea-hearted effort you've ever seen?

Honestly the club should pack his bags for him now, thank him for his time and point him towards the nearest KFC

Ratugolea you mean

Ratugolea was never catching bobby there

Looks like he held up and moved to the left of the contest, probably anticipating Jones would come through and knock the ball towards him

The only thing Ratugolea is guilty of in that situation is assuming Jones is an AFL footballer

No its Ratugoleas goal. He peels off Hill for no reason

and if you go to 3:36 you see the Rat speciality, the failed pack chest mark.

Now if you really want to see some real piss watch Ryan Burton at every contest. Starting at 1:33

You really will defend your inexplicable spud favourites against all logic and reason, won't you?

Ratugolea on Hill is an awful match up

He'll get turned inside out by him every time.

Yea but youre looking at the wrong bit of the clip.

Ratugolea leaves Hill to chase WHE (braindead). After that Collingwood have every advantage. WHE just needs to kick it anywhere i50, Hill just needs to get any touch on the ball.

Im sure Jones gave up plenty of goals but thats not on him. Hes just scrambling to clean up another players mess

i see exactly what you're talking about

Its not ideal from Rat, but if Jones just goes when it's his turn to go, we're not talking about this goal

Also "Im sure Jones gave up plenty of goals but thats not on him" Lol

Jones must feel like Charlie Bucket down at the club. Cause he's got a goldeeeen tickeeeet

A fair whack of those goals could've been easily defended, some multiple times, with good defenders and a good defensive gameplan.

Ratugolea on Bobby Hill is just as crazy as Lachie Jones on Mason Cox.

The Collingwood small forwards were always going to dominate us.

Bobby Hill eviscerated us and no one had any answers.

I don't know if people noticed but we also got killed by the small forwards of Melbourne as well. It is a recurring theme.

I'm not a big fan of Burton as a defender.

What can you say. The matchups were terrible.

Re Ratugolea, most cut him some slack as it was his first game against another team (for us), but unless my eyes were playing tricks Aliir gave him a few sprays in the first half of that trial at Alberton which appeared to be related to his poor positioning and/or inability to pick up his man, and it happened at least a couple of times at the bowling green end.

Small forwards always give us issues, Brisbane, Collingwood, Adelaide all come to mind. Burton, Jones and Farell arent disciplined enough to do he job. Unfortnately most clubs see small specialist defenders as unsexy.

I'm more in the wait and see category as he's learning the system with the players and has done some really good things but he doesn't have the nous and needs to pick it up.

Ratugolea on Bobby Hill is one, asking for trouble, and two, don't we have a small defender who can defend him.

I would put Bobby Hill as BOG in that game.

What's he ment to do slide in take out his legs go low and collect hill high ?

That's the AFL's doing unfortunately they have taken players instincts out now ..

He's better off trying to do what he did

No, he should just grab the ground ball. Instead of completely overrunning it and missing it completely without touching it somehow.

Mate 6/10 times you will over run the ball in that situation it's not a round ball ..
🥸
Maybe if you are Lachie Jones, but anyone else I would expect 10/10 times to at least get a hand on it and the majority of the time to actually pick it up.

He went in soft and was worried about contact coming, so put in a half hearted attempt.

Watching the replay, the ball changes direction somewhat when it bounces in between him and Hill. It looks bad because he’s going one hand but I would suggest it’s because it didn’t go where he thought it was going.
Nothing to do with being pea hearted. Hill in that split second is the one who slows down and doesn’t continue at the ball at the same pace. Yet lucky for him it ends up in his path for a simple pick up.
