EUFA EURO 2024 - Group Stage ⚽ EPL 24/25 starts Aug 17
As others have said the rules are a bit different this year. There is also the old delist and re-rookie list move.So expect 2 more delistings. We have picks 35 (522 pts), 47 (316 pts), 57 (182 pts), 59 (158 pts) and 73 (9 pts). To be able to use these picks for points we have to have 5 list spots open on Draft night. We currently have only 3 (Jones, Schofield and .........). #73 could get into the 50s by the time we use it as clubs use multiple pick on matching academy/ F&S bids.
My money is on Patmore and Garner.
No current season stats available
"Never!". "Hire Ned Guy!"."Never Hire!" - Ned Guy
Next focus needs to be 2021 Free agency. I have a feeling we are going to go after a big signing
We said that last year - but with only 1 pick in the top 70 it will be difficult (and may need it for Jase).
Wonder how McKenzie would go? Mature body with excellent set of hands, can bang them from 60. Not sure what his endurance is like, but he'll likely get squeezed out of the back line unfortunately now we have Aliir.Brad Ebert's role will be the hardest to fill. Wonder who steps up? Xavier is the only one who can compete with his all day 2 way running ability.PLAYERCARDSTART7Brad Ebert

You don't need to use draft picks on a free agent. The club has said the strategy for the next few years is academy picks and free agents. I would love it if we signed Cripps or Bontempelli. We said that last year - but with only 1 pick in the top 70 it will be difficult (and may need it for Jase).
This is peak optimism. You don't need to use draft picks on a free agent. The club has said the strategy for the next few years is academy picks and free agents. I would love it if we signed Cripps or Bontempelli.
More likely that Clurey gets squeezed out as opposed to McKenzie.
McKenzie already took Clurey’s spot at full back. If we had any other viable tall options come finals I’m pretty sure Clurey wouldn’t have played. If people don’t care for my opinion they can listen to the many Swans posters who’ve dropped in to say that Alir is more a loose 2nd / 3rd tall defender than a FB
We can’t drop clurey for Alir unless Jonas goes to clureys fb position, which would be a waste.
structure wise Jonas and clurey are the first two backs selected whether you like clurey or not.
Looking to next yrs free agents would love Merrett but you can guarantee dodo would match Cam Guthrie would also be a great addition.
Not a fan?Post reported
Started with 45 = 38 + 6 rookies + 1 Cat B rookie
8 out = 37 Ebert, Westhoff and Watts retired, Grundy(R), Cox (R), Atley, Sutcliffe (R) and Buzza all delisted
33+ 3 + 1 rookies Pasini, Burgoyne and Woodcock unless Woodcock got an upgrade and Fredrick as Cat B
2 traded in = 39 Aliir and Fantasia
2 likely drafted = 41 Jones and Schofield
So potentially 3 more can be added via delisted free agent type, national draft and rookie draft.
Think we will keep Fredrick. 2 years on the rookie list is enough for a Cat B rookie but Covid nullified his 2020.
I for one cant stand him! Port jumpers make everyone look good IMO ... except him!Not a fan?
There was an article saying AFL will allow minimum of 37 maximum of 44 with all rookies A + B in that 44.If lists are reduced by 2 then we would have Jones/Schofield and 1 pick?
That's a shame, sounded like he could have debuted the year he did his ACL.Fredrick stays rookie Cat B and Patmore not given a new contract.
So list is now 32 + 3 + 1 = 36 with Jones and Schofield to come.
Defender recommits to Port Adelaide for 2021.
Young defender Marty Frederick has signed on for 2021, while we bid farewell to midfielder/forward Jake Patmore.www.portadelaidefc.com.au
PORT ADELAIDE defender Martin Frederick has agreed a contract extension to remain at the club until the end of 2021.
The 20-year-old is yet to debut at AFL level but has featured 20 times for the club at SANFL level since being picked up as a Category B rookie at the end of the 2018 season.
The Portland Football Club product was part of the Port Adelaide Next Generation Academy and has become known for his speed and rebound out of defence.
“It’s pleasing for our club to be able to retain Marty as a Category B rookie,” said General Manager – Football, Chris Davies.“He was part of that unfortunate group which did not get to play regularly this year because of the restrictions surrounding our SANFL program. However, his attitude and application could not be questioned. “We look forward to his continued development next season.”
The club can also confirm midfielder/forward Jake Patmore has not been offered a new contract. Patmore arrived at Alberton with pick 58 in the 2017 draft from Claremont in the WAFL...........
