Sydney have wins against GC, Hawthorn and Richmond, three teams in the bottom six. They've yet to play anyone in the top 3 - it's going to be a long season.

And "yes please" to Toby Greene.

Reeves, who was miles behind Hayes in development and not much better at covering the ground has been backed in by the hawks and tonight has 10d and 21 hitouts against English and halftime

Meanwhile we’ve already virtually delisted Hayes weeks into the year.
Unbelievably poor player development and management. We’ve let this guy down massively. He still holds a 5-2 win-loss record.

Funny enough was just looking at the game stats and noticed the same thing.
21 hit outs against one of the best rucks in the comp till half time is pretty amazing stuff from a young guy.
You really can’t compare him to 3 touches Hayes last week in a sanfl game.
One is headed from a good AFL career the other is headed from the Gippsland Desert.

As I said they’ve abandoned Hayes, they’re not even playing him in the role he’s dominant at sanfl level instead shuffling him to a forward pocket.

Hayes was ahead of reeves… but one coach backed reeves in patiently for 5 years and the other coach abandoned his prospect 7 games into his career.

Hawks now will enjoy reeves feeding their mids for years.. at the end of the year port, despite having something like 5 or 6 rucks on our list in the past 2 years are going to have a ruck crisis going into 2024.

Looking at Reeves stats he’s had a very good season, creamed it last week against the Crows and even when they got thrashed by Geelong he still had more taps than anyone (31) so he can sure play.
Hayes might have been in front of him but like everything in life it can change fast.
Reeves has kicked on from those days Hayes has gone backwards that’s just the way life goes. Just because you look better at a early stage than another player doesn’t mean it will stay that way forever.
Hayes has done fk all this year, 3 touches last week playing basically amateur league.
I know he’s the pin up boy of this forum just like Butcher was but at the end of the day he won’t be playing AFL anywhere.
You are correct we do have a ruck crisis and that should be number one priority with a key defender going forward.
