I was expecting a 6-8 goal loss tonight based on the 5 day turnaround and losing Nank, Balta and Lynch.

To lose by 4 goals and fade in Q4 is a pass for me. We were highly competitive for majority of the game.

Just remember as a club, if won’t take much for us to surpass clubs like Essendon.
Get a few more quality midfielders in the draft and the future looks far more brighter.

The good: Gray, Banks, Brown, Kmac2
Very happy to see these guys excel in a tough night

The bad: Green and Smith weren’t great and I can’t see them making it, hope to be proven wrong but both struggled.

Our mids, what’s new? We badly need to inject top end talent in the draft via mids.

The unhinged melts on this thread. We’ve cashed in with 3 flags and now it’s our time to deal with some pain and we have still have plenty of positives that are showing great promise this year. We’ve already exceeded last seasons wins and been largely competitive in majority of our games this season.
I can’t believe how people expect us to be good straight away or think we’ll somehow have a functional forward line playing teenagers as our KPFs.
Perspective is a helpful tool

Lalor injured

Don't care anymore
no lalor, no smillie, no hotton

crazy GIF

1 vote for Broady as he always tries his guts out. 1 for Gray for his first half effort. A 2nd gamer. Rest were pretty pus, no more votes. TT jogging around half arsed. Ryan back to the twos, same with MRJ. Faull totally off this game. A big Fugg orf to Lalors hammy.

Poor game plan by Yze allowed Lalor to get frost bite deep forward for most of the match.

Allowing Hugo to get trapped deep in defensive cover and not reacting fast enough with changes.

Essendon go rotationally down and does not get a skip along and change tack to take advantage.

We see a lot of good attributes in our kids but still little evidence Adem will make the grade as a senior coach.

Shit game. Clearly ran out of legs. Disappointing, move on.

Game thread was an embarrassment tonight. If you can’t handle watching us at the start of a rebuild and feel the need to abuse the players, coaches then stop watching for the next few years because your going to be absolutely miserable. Shameful “supporters”.
Kidding yourself. A rebuild but we want to see signs of improvement from both players and coaches. We saw Dimma acknowledge mistakes by himself in his early days. We can't criticise because of the phase they're in?

Horrible game. Hard to find much to be positive out of that one.

I’m over watching TT jog around.

Will gather my thoughts more tomorrow, just really pissed off right now.
his effort to be a onfield leader was non existent tonight.
Doesn't push himself and just jogged and watched.
Just when the team need him the most...disappointing game

I’ve held fire on yze and still wanna see if he can establish himself as a coach. But currently the team lacks any dare or intent to attack. We never seem to run with any player with leg speed in the midfield, we are getting blasted in the ass and I’m seeing no change to midfield setup.

The current afl requires you to be free flowing and high scoring, this chip mark style protects us from heavy defeats but I’m worried it’s stifling our growth.

We will wait and see but currently I’m not convinced he’s the right coach going forward

If there is a stat for coughing up the footy to gain a cheap possession to make your own stats look better instead of taking a stoppage for the team then Tim Taranto would be ranked 1 all time. I really like
Tim but needs to get this out of his game.
thank you!

Let's listen to the press conference
Hes a spaz

See if it's any more coherent than half of us pissed guys
How’s that at all relevant to how he has this list at this stage with 3 wins when predicted to go winless. Strange melt

Positives:

Banks — it's really clicked for him off half back now.
Gray — Grimes MK2 with that fist.
Brown — playing well every week now
McAuliffe — excellent first half. Ran out of legs, but so did half the team.
Ross — had to go onto the wing to cover Dow, and did a great job of it.
Miller — Rarely beaten, though did seem to be hobbling late.

Negatives:

  • Injuries, especially the Lalor hammy
  • Ralphsmith getting outmarked by a child twice
  • Kaleb Smith is not an AFL player
  • The whole team running out of legs and being pretty non-competitive in the last.
