Well they’re playing just no fans... probably the most sensible choice... don’t know what this means for the clubs back pocket and the stadiums and their employees

I feel really bad for the stadium employees, contractors, etc., who are going to lose shifts and significant income through this.

Ultimately though, if we can avoid this becoming a total meltdown, we might see things stabilise enough for some normality in late-season, which would be unlikely if we just went gung-ho and jammed 95,000 people into the MCG on Thursday night ...

:D Average team that beats... St Kilda, the star-studded line up? Both teams have been 'average' over a while now, and recent years, would suggest the Saints are even more so.

Anyway, Round 1 anomolies aside (if Round 1 actually occurs), will tell us a bit about the year to come which is, always, a new year. No team has lost yet etc.
No offense Kimbo , but we where lucky to beat Gold Coast last year with who we had out - Steven , Hannerbery , Carlisle , Geary , Webster , Longer , Pearce , Kent , Lonie , Austin , King , Bytel , Roberton , McCartin - you will see a totally different side this year with just team members we can field.

Any team which gains a fit Hannerbery , Carlisle , Roberton , Geary , Ryder , Hill , Zac Jones , Howard , Butler will have to be vastly different , however the shocking last couple of years might of helped the maturity of some of the young guys coming through just like how Marshall came out of no where and we are looking at improvement from guys like Gresham , Long , Battle , Hunter Clark , Coffield , Paton , King.

how typical for the Saints , probably our best preseason injury wise for years and now we cop this virus . Do feel for the old players in the AFL who were going to play one last year , and the young under18 kids who were going to put their hand up for drafting , thats if the footy is cancelled.
The experts say it could take a year to get a vaccine but then with the millions of people wanting it , it will take ages to get it to everyone , we might lose two years of footy and other sports and thats if only they can come up with a vaccine .

What's the situation with Coronavirus in Australia? Are the matches definitely going ahead? Much of our sport is in shutdown now.

Hopefully they cancel the rest of the season and Leeds go up ;)

Sadly, for you mate, I think the opposite could be the case if the season is scrapped: null and void and start in the same place next season. It's a minefield of course and would cause huge arguments. We will just need to see what transpires.
