It has everything to do with it because Sydney won't come out and directly criticise the AFL, no AFL club would. If the Swans called the ECFL anything but the "VFL" in the press releases that would be seen as fairly big criticism of the AFL.

I noticed the last line of that article
" Live streaming of additional games will be coordinated by the AFL and relevant clubs".
So maybe more games will be streamed on clubs websites? So we might see more than 3 games each week!!
