We will get the usual people on here patting the boys on the back.. Wonderful year. All that stuff.

The reality is, we make what is so simple look impossibly hard, and i dont care what anyone says, is a year where we could have gone much deeper into September.... We had that game absolutely on toast and found a way to fluff it as usual both up forward, and key moments down back. How on earth we made some of those errors inside 50 and fluffed certain goals was just mind boggling.... When we could have kicked a goal late surging forward we found a way to fluff it, and let the ball out so easily when we had it deep inside 50...

The difference between us and say a Hawthorn is that teams like Hawthorn are not satisfied with just making finals. That is not the end goal. Nothing short of ultimate success is accepatable.. Thats why we are where we are and why say Hawthorn has over 10 premierships...

And sadly, its the die hard supporters that have to bear the brunt of it and bear the pain of it all....

Stringer- I think he is believing his own hype. Did nothing to influence the game when it mattered
Roberts - Pack your bags mate... Cost us big time
Cramers - Missed absolutely key shots in the game and fluffed so many opportunities
Grant - Missed several chances to ice the game
Picken - Went missing most of the game
Boyd - Didnt stand up when it mattered

Murphy - Good game
Bonts - Did well
Dalhaus - Was great
Hunter - Did great

Now we have to all suffer the pain of losing to those bastards for the 3rd time in a final... Speechless

Bit selective there buddy. Bonti missed 2 set shots for goal. I could use your mindset and say Bonti cost the dogs the game.

Can't agree when he was brilliant in getting clearances - you know he was probably number 1 to a 44-24 clearance win. It isn't his job to be an outside player and hit targets. You can have a go at about 15 of our players before you do Wallis.

Hmmm I don't know. Wallis was quiet IMO during the first half and while he was getting more of the ball in the second, many of his second efforts weren't there. This isn't a Wallis bashing post but this was not one of his great games imo

Sloane, Douglas, Thompson all showed a stack more composure under pressure. It was almost like MacCartney came back to coach us tonight.

Well done on your year guys, great game and it's a shame someone had to lose. Really enjoyed your style of footy and was hoping to get to play you once more..tonight made me remember how stressful finals are!

Only time we need experience on the G is on grand final day. Any other game is not comparable to the big one. No interstate team has ever given up a home final so they could get some much needed finals experience at the G. You gotta get to the big dance the easiest way possible. Dont know why we should be any different to other teams.

Great effort after a great season. The atmosphere at the game was palpable, also great effort for the smallest Vic club to pull out a 60,000 strong crowd. Chin up doggies!

Also one more thing to mention, that play in the 4th quarter where one of your players saved a goal on the line with a diving punch, then to see you guys go coast to coast from that to goal was arguably the best play I've seen this year.

Was phenomenal.

Long story short, they will take something good away from it, it's done but dwelling over it is not going to change the outcome. Bev now has to work out what he needs to get 4 quarters of effort from players.

Bont started like a house on fire then went missing for nearly 30 minutes and Dickson really needed to be in the game during the 3rd quarter when we were getting the ball in there.

But it is what it is, time for this team to go to the next level

Can't blame him for bad kicking but I think if we locked him down the kicking wouldn't have mattered.

But he is learning so we must expect mistakes .... Just wish it was any other team that that garbage

Had our chances tonight, but the ball use and conversion was
very costly in the end. I must say i was tremendously proud
of our year and the attractive brand of football we brought to

We were in trouble when Roughie and JJ were unavailable and Talia has been playing like crap. Hamling and Roberts as the main talls was always going to make it difficult

Minson got four weeks initially for it, he t Henderson didn't even give away a free .

Well it's been a fantastic season, where we were bold and brave. It continued tonight and as well as Adelaide played we cost ourselves the game. Adelaide kicked 10 goals straight from set shots and we missed at least 5 where we were expecting to kick. Grant 2, Bonti 2, Crameri and Jong all missed.

So happy for Will Minson he really justified his inclusion, I thought Jong also was ok, I think Talia was a better option than Roberts, who really got back into the side on the back of ordinary VFL form.

Even so 2 minutes to go we are a point down and Hunter and Crameri will have to rue that the handball couldn't hit the target.

Looking forward to next year already.

Can't be too harsh on Dickson. The bloke kicked 5 straight.
We should be blaming grant and Crameri. They were so inefficient. Really cost us.
And obviously Bont should of kicked one of those. So many errors.
