We also need to remember Barry with his temper.

While he was in the bulldogs, not once did he knock anybody out :p
Baz was a loose cannon, but he left it on the field. Jake doesn't.

Might be worth the risk. I'm starting to think Carlisle can fill the void we have with a CHB who is physically able to contest the ball, feed off the ball to Hamling, JJ, Biggs, Murphy etc

I'm resigned to Talia going and looking at our list deficiencies, a KPD is a priority at this point

Could Carlisle be any worse than Sherman was?

I think Bev is the right coach for him. Could make it work IMO. His just bitter at EFC (why wouldn't you be?)
I'd be inclined to believe the posters who clearly know more about the situation than you and me. It's a NO from me.

I think his a good pick TBH.

His young, has the aggression, and wants to play forward in the future (would could be possible, as Bev likes to move people around)

Forgetting the attitude for the discussion, he'd be a fit for what we need. A swingman CHB/CHF that can take marks and read the play.

It was weird standing in line to go to the toilet. This whole "large crowd" business seems to have it's downfalls :p
I was on Level 2 in the Bulldogs section and there was 1 small toilet within 80 metres of my seat. 50+ blokes queuing to get in was a bit much, particularly in a so-called premium section. Now I understand what the poor women have to endure.

This loss still hurts. To dominate in every stat except for the one that really mattered bloody sucks. I said to my dad early on that our inaccuracy will cost us the game which unfortunately did in the end.
We got caught out a couple of times getting sucked too far up the ground which is how the Crows scored their first 4 or 5 goals. It would have been handy having JJ on Betts, in reality we had no one to go with him.
Thought Boyd was relatively quiet for his standards. Crameri really needs to stop just slamming it on the foot whenever he is near the sticks. Thought the midfield was great, they didn't stop trying. Minson was good in the ruck, if he wouldn't have played we wouldn't have won the clearances I think. He looked gassed pretty early on though.
Fletch didn't have his best day, was just unfortunate it was in the final. Roughead would have been nice out there too, but there is no point discussing 'what if's' after the game is played.

Also I want to say a big get stuffed to the crows supporter who dobbed someone in for having a flask and getting them kicked out 5 minutes into the game. I wasn't surprised as they kept on turning around looking at me when I was yelling out. Some people just hate fun.

Finally I want to say a big "you're lucky I was held back" to an Adelaide supporter as I held the door open for him and his mate which he replied with "thanks you phukking sucker" which set me completely off. I just cannot believe some people.

My apologies on behalf of the rest of the Crows supporter, Dogs.

Sorry if I already posted this I can't remember but I just wanted to say a huge well done really bad luck to miss out going on to play the Hawks, but you guys should hold your head up high loved watching you guys play this year& I've always had a soft spot for the doggies.Hope you can go that few steps further in 2016:).

The "middle" draw thing is a small consolation, but it's still gut-wrenching from our perspective considering this is the 3rd time in 3 years.

For you guys, in some ways it's not as big of a deal, as you're a younger team and will expect to improve. But still, you're right, make no bones about it, Bevo will be just as irritated as Hardwick is about the loss.

Your brand of attack is awesome, it's really your two-way running that just needs some tweaking, but without losing that attacking flair. Too many times the Crows got easy, out-the-back goals against you, so if you are able to fix that up, you're a real chance for Top 4 in 2016.

As for Hardwick and Richmond, well at the end of the day, we need one or two more inside midfielders who can take the load when Cotchin is held, and that will give us sway against the teams that seem to challenge us in this area, such as North, and even you guys.

I still think we're a good team, you're not bad if you win 14+ games in a season, but it's about what you do on the day that counts, and as average as North has been, they made a Preliminary Final from 7th last season, so what happened today isn't totally unexpected either.

As both our clubs are finding out, what you achieve in 23 rounds of H&A season has little weighting if you go out in week 1 of the finals, which is disappointing, considering that both teams had pretty great years, and deserve to still be in the finals.

You are right seagull Eddie got some easy goals that way. While you are talking about Richmond, I think you need to change your captain, Cotchin just doesn't cut it, it would give him the chance to focus on his game. I would say Dusty if he continues to shows maturity, he seems to have taken his game to a new level this year.

Carlisle aint the answer. I have it from a very good tomato sauce that the Bummers are happy to get rid of him and are talking up his value. You get more out of a brick wall when you are talking to it than talking to Jake.

Let's face it, we have a very young list, we kicked ourselves out of it and we finished 6th. We have it all in front of us. Todd Goldstein or Nic Nat would be handy but other than that we just need more games into our youth. We should continue to improve.

More games into Zaine Cordy, continual natural improvement into Biggs, Hamling and Roberts will close the gap, we forget how young these guys are in experience and body strength.

We aren't even primed for finals yet. Going by history it should be in a year or two. That's the exciting part!
We were primed and ready in 2015 and were playing 7th place in a home final - right here and now we are a better team than Adelaide, and we should have won on Saturday night. Indeed we would have done so had we shown composure late, in the ice-cool way that Taylor Walker did - sound familiar? I don't think any team in the history of the competition could have +20 in clearances, +10 inside 50's, ahead in CP's, +40 in UP's, +18 in tackles, get to 100 points first (teams that do this win 98% of matches) and still find a way to lose a final. Only the Dogs could do that - if there is a way to somehow manufacture a heartbreaking/gallant loss in a final, we'll find a way. We own the patent on this - it's what we do unfortunately :(

I know we're young and there is much to look forward to, but these finals losses when we are the better team on virtually every statistical measure except the final scoreboard sting like hell. Winning a tight final like Saturday night would have been immeasurably beneficial to this young group, and we should have. It's a brutal assessment on the young group but it's not the slightest bit unfair. And it will take a long 12 months, and much incredibly hard work, just to be able to get the chance to possibly be there again. What will we do next time a final is on a knife-edge? History is not kind to us on that score.

I love how all the youth and others all saying we will be better next year but history shows you that for a long time our fans have been saying this
We will be better next year 1985
We will be better next year 1997
We will be better next year 1998
We will be better next year 2006
We will be better next year 2009
We will be better next year 2010

The stone cold reality is that we haven't won a important crucial final in 30 years and as team we choke in every major final We must change that until we do that we just a bunch of schmucks
To be fair you could add almost every year in between as well. It's the nature of 95% of fans to be upbeat about the coming season.
And in many of those years (about half of them) we were better.

On the other hand if what you're saying is that we haven't played in a grand final in all that time, well that's true, but it's hardly breaking news either.

My only consolation is those smart****, arrogant Crows supporters (and there are many) will get their whack on Saturday when they are taken apart by an angry, embarrassed Hawks on the rebound.

Can't just expect the emotional wave will get you though every week.

If we were going to lose by 7 points that's the sort of loss I'd be happy with. Terrible umpiring, terrible goal kicking and an injury to Stringer.

All three of those things are statistically random and we copped all three. Let's just hope it doesn't happen to us in next year's Granny
Wouldn't say the goal kicking is random?

Hey what team would you rather be? Exciting talented extremely young team with the future in Front of us, or old under-achieving with their best player rumoured to be leaving?

Kinda glad Bevo was pissed off in the presser, has kept his emotions in all year
This will drive him to make this club go further
Wise beyond your years VitalDread.......

Shoulda....Coulda.....Woulda

Disappointing when so close but bad kicking let us down. Took me only an hour to get over it as being outside top 6 gives a slightly better (chance of) draw next year. Exceeded initial expectations and certainly has given hope in the next few years. A pretty happy camper here still.

You would be disappointed if he wasn't angry.

Golden opportunity missed, but I'm sure he'll be laying down the challenge and asking how much they really want it. That will determine how we go from here.
