Does he have any scope to turn into a forward?
FFS what is it with trying to turn to defenders into forwards. If we’ve drafted a defender to play him forward the then god help us. It’s a professional sport. I’m sorry but players are specialists in their area and should generally be played there.
And Adams and Cordy are not forwards either.

Not a great argument, if you only ever played players in the positions they played in juniors, we would not have seen players like Brian Lake succeed.

Good news is that is a Victorian boys, returning home. not sure why peel thunder recruited him when the go home factor is so big?

His family relocated to Perth. That’s why he was there, no recruiting. Don’t know how old he was when they shifted

Welcome Aaron and best wishes for your career with The Bulldogs

So basically, Dal got his guy. And we would have taken Ed Richards at 11 if we'd got that pick from Essendon. I feel more comfortable now with our entire trade and draft period now. Naughton wasn't the best fit list-wise but if you rate them, you take them.

If we had taken the 15 pick upgrade (26 to 11) + stringer exchanged for pick 47 option that was in fact the full first Dodoro-Dildo offer, we might have had the same result from draft night but...no Schache.

While it’s odd that we recruited a key defender and a rebounding defender via the trade period, then drafted a key defender and a rebounding defender again only a month later, I can’t help but feel if we drafted this guy two years ago we would all be over the moon.

I’m confused by our list strategy, but of all our key defenders, this guy probably has the most chance of being the best of them.

Maybe the Lions would have accepted pick 47 and our next year's second rounder (in supposedly a stronger draft) and the overall outcome would have been the same.

There's so many different variables. We could have not done the Carlton trade and instead traded picks 28 and 30 instead of 25 and 40 to Brisbane, whilst not upgrading 25 to 16, but managing to keep next year's second in the process. But if Richards kills it and we win the flag meaning next year's 2nd rounder is pick 40 or whatever, we'll look like geniuses. All we can look at is this draft on its merits, and if we thought that the top end fell away quickly enough that we think that any of the options at 25 were nowhere near as good as Richards, than giving up next year's 2nd might have been worth it.

Really excited about this guy. Dahl’s mentioned a few times that they rated his versatility to be able to play on all types as well as being a very strong and attacking defender. They see him as a bigger version of Easton Wood.

That’s enough for me to get pumped about it.

Yeah now I look at it I think he will be the replacement for Wood long term.

Club needs to look at his scoliosis, it will affect his longevity, and make him prone to hamstrings on one side.
