Slightly overpaid but the future second was essentially the contracted player tax. All we need is for him to play at this current level for one or two years while Darcy develops.

Watch him kick 5 against the Saints, playing on Zaine Cordy.

Welcome Rory.
We've given three of our last two tall forward recruits (Shach and Cloke) number 13. So let's not give Lobb 13 based on how those two ended up.

We got absolutely exposed this year no matter who we tried as backup ruck. Bruce, Jamarra, Cordy, Schache.

With teams like the demons, freo and even Richmond with two good rucks we needed to address that area. Takes a lot of pressure of Darcy for a couple of years to develop organically and not be forced to play undersized.

Bruce out of the best 22 atm and is depth right now. Hence moving Schache on who was even further back.

I don’t mind it, we addressed our key position depth this off-season which has been an issue for a few years. Still enough mid quality there, just comes down to their mindsets.

reckon he is gonna smash it for us kicked 36 goals in 21 games this year if he can replicate that next year and do decent in the ruck thats a huge W

Welcome Rory

Tallest Dogs list of all time?

Good chance we’ll have a 207cm player in each area of the ground for big chunks of games next year. Has to be a first.

And there will be times when Lobb & one of English/Darcy are both forward. Will be very tough to defend if we kick to advantage.

The future pick will probably be in the 30s, so two picks at that range is probably fair enough. I’m content paying that.

I’m not a Lobb fan but agree completely with what you said. Considerably better than all the dumb options we used as second ruck this season, just need him to play good footy until Darcy is ready to take over that role full time.

He has been a tease his entire career. This year was the closest he put a full year together and if we get that I’ll be stoked. Did nothing in the last seven games except the two against us when he tore us apart so at the very least we won’t have to deal with him dominating us again.

Be nice having a forward that is capable of roosting it 55m to kick a goal. Had a look at his highlights package and some very nice, long goals in it.
Underrated how badly we lack that in our forward line. Marra should be able to as he’s a huge kick but he hasnt really shown an ability to do it at AFL level too often yet and there’s literally no one else in our starting forward line bar maybe JJ you’d back to kick 1 out of 10, not to mention a genuine 50/50 from 50+. Seems other clubs do it weekly against us, and it really does change up the way teams have to defend your forward line if you have a few options who can do it consistently.

Tallest Dogs list of all time?
List of tallest pairs playing together in the same AFL game:
1. Jarrod Witts (209cm) + Mason Cox (211cm)
2. Rory Lobb (207cm) + Aaron Sandilands (211cm)
3. Robbie Warnock (206cm) + Aaron Sandilands (211cm)
4. Tim English (207cm) + Sam Darcy (209cm*)

Fair to say this will easily be the tallest trio in AFL history when they play together.

*unofficial until records are updated following his growth spurt, Darcy's height was officially 205cm this season
