Why the * not?

We used our handouts to get the best youth.

The way you're sposed to.

D'uh
Because the AFL doesn’t hand out picks for past performance but for when the future also looks poor. The fact that the AFL has given you a handout (and the fact you asked for it) highlights that your future is not the brightest and your youth certainly aren’t the best in the league.

lol past performance is basically the sole criteria

North and Hawks are almost certain to finish bottom 6, not that its a bad thing for either side.

North Melbourne can tolerate another 3 win season to get more picks and kids.

No shame for the hawks to get 16th with 7 wins in 2023. The hawks could tolerate another bottom 6 finish in 2024 or another 6-8 win season then slowly move up the ladder in 2025.

Crows fixture is good. I wont be suprised if they got 12-14 wins in 2024.

Yeah Newcombe and Day are no brainers, then Weddle as our third best is is the next easy choice but after that we have a number of guys who you could consider to round out the top 5. Take your pick of 2 of the following: Mackenzie, Macdonald, Ward, Watson, Ginnivan.

Spoken like a true Freo supporter. Slow rebuilds and low expectations are for loser clubs.

I think the Hawks are going to have to tolerate a lot of bottom 6 finishes lol

Haven’t had a sub 80% percentage finish for 19 years 2004. Last one before that? 1967
It would be denying history
Cant imagine a run of such depressing seasons
You won't have to imagine it lol

One prelim 1992-2006 was bad enough. Yet the hawks membership growth was the biggest in its history. Near death in 1996 helps to wake folk up.
The movement will be up for us from now on. After a run of very poor seasons north cleared out key players, something when north fan barratt accused hawthorn of ‘deliberately tanking’ last year

I don't think Hawks were tanking, I think they're just crap

Hey Eddie - see this post.
Any team that supposedly had/has the best youth in the league would not need to ask the AFL for an intervention in improving their list. It’s that simple. The handouts weren’t used to improve the “mature players” on your list, they were used to bring in yet more youngsters who are vulnerable to the same developmental risk factors that have impacted the club for nearly a decade.

Larkey, LDU, Sheezel and Wardlaw disprove your theory that North cannot develop young players.

We did bring in older mature players using those handouts - Logue, Tucker, Fisher and Stephens. The rest of our draft hand is down to good trading by the people responsible.

You'll be happy to know the same developmental risk factors that have impacted the club for nearly a decade have been moved on and the kids are no longer vulnerable to their inability to develop players like Larkey, Simpkin, Davies-Uniacke and Bailey Scott.

Please post something that "North Fan" Barrett has written that is indicative of his support for North.

Been much much harsher on North than anything he's said about the Hawks
