I had a post removed that you posted yesterday because you didn't want me to pm you, even though I hadn't recently. Full nut job post too.

Why are you still replying to me.. you're just here to troll.
You messaged me on Monday and Tuesday this week.
Are you going through with your threats of continuing to pm me because I have responded? I'm happy to call you out, particularly as it seems it isn't isolated behavior from you.

You need help.

Did SYL remove it?

What a creep.

VinnieB likes to start s**t fights. I thought it best that it was taken to PM and away from this thread as it takes away from the discussions.

VinnieB had his post removed because it added nothing AT ALL to the thread. I've asked him to stop replying and then his gone and replied 3 times in 5 minutes just now. I've now put Vinnie on ignore. He's not worth the hassle.

Now back to thread.

You called me a creep, I'll let that one side but can your address my last post. What is your opinion that the Crows rank last in coaches votes out of the four teams, with Rankine taking half the votes? Maybe Crows youth is not as good as you think? What will happen in three years when Walker, Laird and Sloane are gone or do you think the Crows can win a Premiership in the next three years?

Our afl performances aren’t due to kids underperforming it’s the senior players over 25 letting us down

lol… this is true. Certainly perennial home grown spuds like Ziebel are no good and not one of the trades on your list is worth a crumpet. However there is less than a handful of decent young players on your list.

It's a worry when Dom is the most reasonable poster over the last few pages...

All he is saying (over and over) is in assessing quality of youth, you need to look at more than just who has the most wins.

He's repeated again and again that he is NOT saying this means Adelaide/Essendon don't have good (or better) youth (than Hawthorn or North). In fact, he has talked UP the youth of those teams repeatedly.

He is NOT saying those sides solely rely on experienced players either. All he has said is that assessing youth requires more analysis that who has won the most games, given sides have differing levels of contribution from players that are not youth (whether that is good or bad, self inflicted or otherwise).

Surely that is reasonable to everyone in this thread, otherwise we'd believe that Geelong had the best youth last season.

(What I do completely understand is why should supporters of Adelaide and Essendon care? The fact is they are competing for finals and Hawthorn and North are still bottom 4. Whether that's completely youth based or a good mixture of youth and experience should not matter at all to those supporters, particularly if most of the experience still has plenty of seasons left to contribute)

Hawthorn are mentioned in the title.

Obsession is not just a fragrance.

Martin, Caldwell and Hobbs are jets.

Perkins and Durham have a ton of upside with their size/athleticism and are already strong performers.

Menzie and D'Ambrosio have shown they are long term role players at a minimum.

Just need the draft capital we've invested in KPPs to start paying off (Reid, Cox, Jones and Hayes)

Essendon (13) versus Adelaide (17) players under 100 games was as eventful as you would expect. Lots to like about both. Essendon's more experienced guys got the win with plenty of guys filling roles.

Not to take anything away from Adelaide but the leaders didn't show up for them yesterday. Still look a likeable side for the future.

Hobbs and Martin were dominant against Adelaide and Perkins completely blanketed Dawson. Hobbs had 10 CPs in the first half to go with 4 clearances.

Durham and Martin controlled the wings. Thought the Adelaide young forwards esp Pedlar were good but off the back of that game and knowing we have Cox, Reid, Tsatas, Jones, 2x Davey, Hayes and the best young ruck in the VFL (Bryan) pushing for sélection I’m pretty happy with our kids.

Semantics. Today when looking at the destination Essendon and Adelaide are looking good but who gets to the last stop first …….. that’s what really matters!

Bit of a pointless exercise. Under 22 teams don't win flags.
Takes a whole squad right up to 33 year olds.

Normally you can predict a little bit 5 years in advance so 26 year olds or younger would be more relevant.

This is a thread about youth though. I find it hard to include 26 year olds as youth. These guys will turn 23 next year, which is pretty much when players usually enter their prime.

I will admit this will be the last season that it's relevant to our two clubs who should be pushing for finals (us) and top 4 (you) for 2025

I like to use 25 and under as the comparison

Those are players that will be there for the next 7 years

And currently on norths list only 5 players are older than 26 (shiels, greenwood, Corr, McDonald and tucker)

How many players in each team's round one squad next year will be 23 or younger?

I reckon North will select around 14.

You could also do Bailey MacDonald to BP & Weddle to the wing.

That would be one of the saddest backlines to ever set foot on an AFL field. And that is a best 22 with all available 😳
