Absolute bullshit from Pyke. He's panicked after a couple of losses and brought in an experienced plodder who offers nothing.

Douglas has been hopeless, arguably worse than the Crouch brothers given he's an experienced mid, yet keeps his spot.

Thommo can't chase/spread hard and is exposed the other way defensively far too easily which has been exactly our problem lately.

No doubt B.Crouch was brought in too early but they did so they had to back him in for longer.

I can't understand why we would replace two mids with a slow half-back with shocking disposal/decision-making and zero agility/awareness. He won't help our hardness at the contest in the midfield and he won't help us chase/tackle in the midfield either.

Terrible selection.
NAILED IT.

Too angry for words right now.

I've lost all faith in Pyke...he's bought into the AFC mediocrity culture...we are going nowhere

Van Berlo is in for M Crouch who is being rested due to soreness. He's still a kid. He won't be out for long.

Lyons is in as direct swap for B Crouch because let's face it, Brad has been sh*t.

I understand the melt but also know VB won't be a regular. Same as Henderson - he goes out next week when Laird returns.

Why not give CEY a run ? Even if it's only for a week I still think that VB's inclusion is unjustifiable.

Far be it for me to support VB, but I'm guessing the rationale is that a defender is moving to the midfield and he's the next defender in line. We're a very simple group down there, devoid of ideas.
Yes, I think that Smith may move into the midfield, but then we could have played Wigg!

Panic at what EC?
At two poor performances. Only two players who have copped it, senior poor players remain and a poor senior player returns.

We make to the decision to play Crouch with limited game time, he plays two games and then just when you think he could benefit from the third we drop him.

The other mind blowing poor decision is our midfield has been poor and we've only brought in one midfielder.

Happy with the outs. M Crouch injured so that's forced.

B Crouch was poorly managed imo. Should have been made to play 3-4 weeks in SANFL, much like Tex was when he came back. Putting him straight back was only setting him for failure which he certainly did.

Lyons in was obvious as he should never have been dropped in the first place.

So that brings us to VB. There can only be 2 reasons;

1. We are shifting someone out of defence and need a replacement. We are stuck with VB as the only choice given the list of defenders injured.

2. We are looking for a purely defensive mid.

I think it's the first.

Either way it's horrible.

VB to defence and Smith to midfield will be the only thing that gets me through this game

I'll very begrudgingly live with that. That said, we would be replacing Smith in defense with a worse defender than him, so we're not really fixing anything.

If VB is the answer, you're asking the wrong questions.

That will be the only thing that redeems these selections.

Not really, surely an opportunity to give Wigg a taste. Will screw Wiggy for an opportunity next week if he's the travelling emergency. Would have missed 2 weeks on the trot. VB's the perfect travelling emergency, versatile, fit and it doesn't matter if missing rules him out of AFL action.

You love the prospect of everything going to sh!t don't you? You seem to get a weird excitement on here when things are looking at all gloomy.

How about you hold off your orgasmic excitement over the carnage we are due in the GWS game until we get through the Gold Coast match? Save it up, instead of sputtering it all over this thread.
Young fellas have PE ;)

Milera's still there atleast.

The planets aligned for the Adelaide Football Club this week - after a torrid start to the year we come up against a team decimated with injury to their most experienced players - what an opportunity after a poor showing on the national stage last Friday, the chance to experiment with players like CEY, Wigg Menzel etc and give the older bodies a message and a rest...what do we do?

Good old AFC we drop two young blokes and bring in a bloke with the movement of my 80 year old mother ...boooyeah way to go!

Do we as supporters now hit the panic or at least the worry button in regards to the Crouch boys, do they really want to be in Adelaide, perhaps not so much right now!!
